this post looked jacked the fuck up. not sure why.

So these past few days I've been totally hyped about that Steam Summer Sale. Hyped, but not really actually enough to get anything. I put down a few bucks for KOTOR, but that's really it. What I don't already have I'm not really too interested in playing. So it's been a weird couple of days for me.

But then, just today, I realized what was wrong. I am a physical-copy-whore. I need that box to really get me excited. And this realization came to me when the post man rang my door bell and handed me a nice big package of tasty, tasty vinyl records. Vinyl makes me act like a giddy school girl... a beardy one, but a school girl nonetheless.

NAILS - unsilent death

I've had the CD version of this for a while now. It's some of the noisiest most crusty grindcore/hardcore punk I've ever heard. And I just had to own it on vinyl. Sadly did not get the pink version. The one I got is clear vinyl.

THE SECRET - solve et coagula

This was kind of an impulse purchase. I thought the art looked awesome so I ordered it. Never heard these guys before today. And I'm kind of on the fence. It's pretty decent kind of droney/sludgey, kind of black metal. It didn't blow my mind in any stretch of the imagination. But it sure does look pretty.

And lastly I got a nice fucking double 7" in the sexiest mini sized gatefold I've ever seen. Really nice thick quality. And it was free. I didn't order it, they just sent it along, likely because I'm awesome and they know it. Some POISON IDEA, THE SECRET, MARTYRDÕD and POWER TRIP. All around a pretty damn awesome free record.

I realize I started the thread off by talking about games and then went straight into music, let's just overlook that, shall we?

Also I got a copy of the 5th anniversary edition of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Just because my launch day copy was getting all scratched up. And I have another $100 package coming from Southern Lord. As well as a few other records from various artists. More on those when they arrive.

I love me some stuff shaped mice. I had one some years back that was shaped like an actual mouse. I wonder what happened to it...

They had a mouse like that at Office Max, 'cept it's a muscle car. I was tempted to buy it just because of how dumb it was.

GNAW THEIR TONGUES - per flagellum sanguemque, tenebras veneramus I + II

GTT is one of the most brutal bands in existence. A lot of the standard black metal tropes, covered in a thick layer of harsh noise, twisted screams, clanking chains and utterly disturbing voice samples. If you enjoy fucked up shit, you'll love GTT.

This release is a double 10" set of regular black vinyl. First 75 copies (that means me!!!) came with a bonus CD containing 3 tracks not on the vinyl set.

No pictures, but I got Gojira's album "The Way of All Flesh" in the mail last week, bought Iced Earth's "Alive in Athens" 3-disc set and The New Pornographers' album "Together" at a record store a few towns over, and a $20 PSN card for use later. I've also ordered Reel Big Fish's new album "Candy Coated Fury" and Gojira's new live set "The Flesh Alive" that should be shipping later this week or next week.

A couple of albums I've been looking forward to for quite awhile have arrived recently. They couldn't be more different from each other, and F.L.A.G may be the least manly album in my collection, but I'm loving them both. This has been such a good year for anticipated releases.

Does getting a mattress count? It came by courier. It's cheap and won't last very long, but better than a spring up the ass :) (No pics, sorry)

I much prefer physical copies too, for games, books, and music. Anyway I recently had Company of Heroes, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat arrive, both dirt cheap from Amazon. And music wise I just had Rush's new cd Clockwork Angels, Tenacious D's Rize of the Fenix, and Kimbra's Vows arrive.

I purchased this a week or two ago.

This just arrived in the mail today, can't wait to sit down and watch/listen to it. Not pictured, the two sided poster that also came with it.

Been enjoying the [adultswim] 12 days of singles promotion. Free music, some of which has been pretty awesome (The Hives and Flying Lotus) if you like weird music you gotta check it out!

that looks sweet. i havent actually ever heard gojira before. i saw some album art of theirs with a whale on it and i almost bought just for the art. i'll have to check em out.

nope. believe it or not im actually not that much into sleep. i thought holy mountain was amazing, but jerusalem/dopesmoker never really did it for me.
