Tomorrow should be a good game. I want Germany to win, since I've been a supporter of them since last year's world cup (not sure how I began cheering for them). But seeing Spain go to the finals would guarantee that either of the finalist will have their first taste of the world cup trophy.
How does everyone else feel about the outcome of this particular game?

I feel pretty exited for it, and so glad Spain will go to the finals.....
=P
for real now, to me this is the final, who ever wins this match will be the World Cup Champion, I don't see Holland standing a chance against Germany nor Spain.

As a Uruguay supporter I feel like the team gave it all they got, but alas the result was fair enough as the better team won. I wouldn't mind seeing the Netherlands win the whole thing. I think Germany v Netherlands is going to be the final. The Spanish haven't impressed me thus far so id be surprised if they won, who knows though maybe they'll pull something for this game and play amazingly. Crazier things have happened.

Ah yes, the legendary FIFA World Cup 2009. And a fine tournament it was! :)" I've been a supporter of them since last year's world cup "
Also, Van Bronckhorst! Goal of the tournament.
There certainly weren't any vuvuzelas during WC 2009. It was pretty epic when that thing happend, with that guy!" @ZanzibarBreeze said:

Remember where it was hosted?
Super excited for this match. Want Germany to win, but I fear Spain will go through (So says the octopus!)
YES!!! I am in a busy bar in Seville and Spain scored, it is going off in here. Spain for the win!!!
Holland will take it, not a single loss since the qualifications started.
If they do lose, it will be by Penalty series.
Disappointing. Germany deserved to lose that one but I don't think Spain really deserved to win it. Boring tactics from a boring side, though they've been winning so I can't argue so much.
I did not expect Spain to beat Germany, where was the Germany of the earlier matches!? Ohw well, Spain vs Holland is fine by me! I sure hope Holland will take the World Cup home, although Spain was looking good so it won't be easy. At least Oranje doesn't have a problem scoring, like Spain does!
I totally loathe soccer, but I would have killed to see Holland vs Germany, most dutchies would have!
Anyway I'm watching sunday, I'm actually excited for soccer for the first time in my life but then again I guess the whole Netherlands is!
It's more orange here then any other color!

@Bouke:
Exactly! Spain has a great game of playing towards the opponents goal, but lack the insight to finish it and turn their possesion into actual goals. Holland, however, has no trouble keeping the game broad and passing from wing to wing, only to have Robben go in through the front door. With Sneijder, Robben and Kuijt we have no trouble scoring, while Spains only goal getter is David Villa.
Also, with the exeption of the Brazil and Uruguay games, the only goals Holland had against them were 2 penalty goals, so a team that has trouble making goals will have a hell of a time against Holland.
Just look at the past 3 Spain games: 1-0, 1-0 and 1-0, even though Spain was pretty much dominating the ball.
Nevertheless, it will be a thriller sunday.
Always irks me when people do that, for some reason. ^_^

said:It also helps that they had a very good no-nonsense referee. But yeah, especially the first half was oozing with fair-play. He did get some nasty backtalk in the 2nd half, but he showed alot of character by not feeling insulted and not needing a card to shut somebody up.Oh and I have to say: I have NEVER seen such a fair match so far in a tournament. There was not one yellow card! You could say they were too cautious now but I think it's a sign of class and respect if you don't need fouls. I was quite impressed by that. I'm sure Van Bommel does not share that opinion with me :D "
Another referee would've probably given a few players a yellow card. I think it was Ramos, who went down in the penalty area, and start begging for a card and penalty. On the other side Boateng had a couple of tackles on the player instead of the ball. But overall it depends on the referee, this one didn't start handing out cards left and right, which was good.
I also really enjoyed the fast passes by Spain, but many of the chances they got were because of the bad defence from Germany. And when Germany was in posession they lost the ball very quickly because of bad passing. The Duch team can attack over both flanks and through the middle, while Germany only tried to go through the center. If they can put pressure on the player who has the ball, like Spain did last night we might even win!
Are you guys on crack? If spain played like that in the premiership they would get booed. It's easy to keep posession if you never commit attackers and all you make are side and backpasses. At least when germany get the ball they tried to score goals.
And as for this being a fair match, germany's players could have dived in so many places and got free kicks with the way spain were hounding them, but they didn't. No wonder people dive if refs don't give fouls just because you stayed on your feet.
Erm, no. My country didn't make it. Ireland in case you're wondering. Thank you, Mr.Henry...
I was supporting Germany until last night. I don't mind who wins the final on Sunday.
" @TaliciaDragonsong: How many Bison Dollars (after I've kidnapped the British Queen) will it take to have you start calling it football?!Well you see, in Holland we call it voetbal, and in english we call it soccer, because football refer to that crazy rugby sport (it's called rugby, why call it football? :P ).
Always irks me when people do that, for some reason. ^_^
So it's soccer on this forum for me!
I also just saw an old lady in her cart driving around, the entire thing was decorated orange XD
I'm Dutch as well, and most people I know call American Handegg 'American Football' when we talk in English.
I'm not saying you can't call it soccer, by all accounts, this is a forum based in the US.
I'm just saying that I prefer to use the term football, since it's a litterally the same thing we say in dutch.
And yeah, people are crazy here, including myself! xD
I'm just calling soccer! Mwhaha! Football just makes me think of all those way too fit guys running after an eggshaped leather thing.
and hey, crazy is good, that's why I came here! ^_^
so glad Spain won, they deserved it, they crushed Germany, that's what they get for being so defensive, I'm so excited for the final, finally we'll see a new WC Champion! I'm going with Spain, Holland has been playing shit but have been lucky.
