THE QUESTION 2: What if video games didn't exist?

Welcome to THE QUESTION (WEEK 2)

I lived through a time when video games didn't exist.  It was called 15-20 years ago.  I mean, I was playin' vids, but...  really...  who are we kidding?  video games when I was a kid sucked...  I play more video games as an adult then I did as a kid.  Thankfully.  I'm talkin the 80s here. 
 
Hopefully playing video games isn't your only hobby.  I'm afraid that may be the case with many ppl.

I'd be a better musician, probably. All the time spent in front of the TV would have probably went into music, and I'd be much more proficient, probably would have joined band in school, etc.

I would be with women or at work 24/7, cuz really that tv and sleep are all i do

I'm sure my life would be way different if there were no video games.  On thing is for sure I'd have a ton more money not buying games every month.

I would be more active. Snowboarding / Mountain Biking depending on the season.

I would probably be a lot more into Manga, Anime, TV, and Comic Books.

Then i'd be doing and/or learning usefill things instead of wasting my time hunting achievements.

Life would be boring.

It would suck, really.

I'd be a better writer, that's for sure.
 
Then again, perhaps I wouldn't had picked up writing in the first place considering my handwriting sucks badly. Admittedly, hadn't it been for games pulling me towards my dear old IBM computer, I probably wouldn't have had the interest and knowledge about computers that I have today.
 
I would also be even worse at english than I am now.
 
Goddamn, I wouldn't even had met my girlfriend. Wouldn't be listening to the same music.
 
And no Giantbomb? The world would have been a much darker place.

Then there would be no Mario, and, no Mario Brothers related sexy roleplay, and, then I wouldn't know how to make a living.

it would make this thread slightly more useless. :)

I'd just spend even more time being involved in music. Hell, I hadn't played games for a year until recently, and the the two preceding years it was on a sharp decline anyway. There's so many awesome interesting things out there; without videogames, something else would simply fill the time.

I'd have to find another hobby that I don't mention in public, I'd have more money and my general quality of life would probably be higher.

Uh...there were video games before 1990. In the early 80s, video games were fucking huge.

Uh...there were video games before 1990. In the early 80s, video games were fucking huge.   

 uh...  I wasn't saying there weren't video games before the nineties, I was sayin' they sucked.  I was a kid back then.  If you were a kid back then, and you were sinking as much time into "pacman" as people did with Modern Warfare 2, you would have a sad and lonely childhood.  Video games back then were only good in small doses.  The arcade scene was based on that.  You put a quarter in and play for a 15 minutes or so. "

I would draw more and maybe be a little more social.

I would probably do like they did in the good ol' days. Read, write, raise a garden, play board games, do outdoor activities like playing croquet, and clean....... Video games aren't helping me at all, but they are too much fun to play dammit!!!

Well, first, are you suggesting that kids today that play MW2 for 6 hours a day have a happy and fullfilling life? And, if the games back then "sucked" then why would people still be playing them today? Why would they be being released today? We'll see if people are still playing MW2 in 2 years let alone 30. And the arcade scene wasn't based on 15 minutes and then stopping. It was based on addictive gameplay that was also difficult, so you had to keep putting in quarters to keep playing. "
