Where I live, someone hits a deer on the highway every day. Hitting a deer would total that car.
And when you get in a car accident, you aren't causing their death. It's an accident, and I just want to keep my and my wife safe. It's not my fault if they buy a car with bad protection. I want a car that will keep us safe if we hit a tree, a cow, or anything. That doesn't make me a bad person.

Deer get hit where I live too. Perhaps i value my life less than you do yours, but I frankly dont care about my safety when there is a risk of killing someone else, accident or no. If i can make an accident less likely, i'll do what i can to that end. My spouse can get whatever kind of car she wants, so if she wants more protection i wont stop her, but I am not about to drive something that kills the planet and the people it runs into.

That's right. It isn't anyone's fault. However, since it is a very real possibility that you may get in an accident in your life, you should be responsible and make sure you are protected.
You would die in Texas with one of those. Every other vehicle is a pick up truck. That is what they want to drive so I don't care but I rather like my Honda Civic.

Car collisions are definitely someone's fault. Whether it's one, both, or all cars involved, someone is at fault.
