Holy shit! Next week is going to be crazy!!!
The Walking Dead Season 3 Discussion Thread (Spoilers)
After this episode, if The Governor and Andrea don't get fresh holes in their face soon, I'll be upset.

I feel like I say that every week. Holy crap I'm loving this season! If anyone hurts my Glenn and Maggie, heads will roll... HEADS WILL ROLL!!!!
Everyone says it every week! I'm never disappointed, that's for sure. I was ready to punch the Governor in the face through my t.v. if he raped my baby Maggie! PUNCHED! SHE'S MINE!!!
The Good:
- Incredible tension in the interrogation scenes, if only because we've built such a connection to Maggie that her scene with The Governor was legitimately disquieting.
- Michonne hooking up with Team Prison is awesome for the momentum of this season, which has already been thunderous.
- An enticing set-up for the first trading blows between Team Prison and Team Woodbury.
The Bad:
- Andrea's plotline is still boring. And her character remains unbearable. And her role this episode was nothing short of pointless.
- Let me get this straight. We've seen Maggie take the initiative at attack preemptively before. Glenn headbutts his captor and kills a walker while his hands are bound to a chair. Maggie isn't bound to anything (though her wrists are taped together) and puts up no fight? And then she spills the beans on the prison group? I don't know. I came away with an icky feeling about the way Maggie's part this episode was written. I can probably get talked out of this, but Maggie struck me as more of a fighter than what was represented this time around.
- The dude in the cabin? Still thinks there are cops around? What?
i cant beleive they copped out with Lori's death. but i guess it would be too hot for tv. first shane's and now this
@Patman99: You'll die before that day in TWD ever comes. You can't ever be happy in a post-apocalyptic world!
They've done a really good job with the Governor. I agree that Andrea hasn't been translated well. I've been hoping for them to get a handle on it, but I think that hole's been dug too deep. Kind of funny that one of the most tense, well-executed subplots involves two non-comic characters (Daryl and Merle). Not that it matters, just interesting to bring up.
Overall, this season kicks ass. I didn't think last season sucked by any means, but this one feels more like it should be, grittier, darker, and more macabre. I'm pretty fucking pumped for the next episode.
The only thing that sucks that next week's episode is the mid season finale. :(Yeah but HEY LONGER SEASON. :D

Can't have anything against Andrea, she found a place to call home, she doesn't know what's really going on.
I found the moment with Carol reuniting with the group to be quite emotional, really drives home how much of a family they have become. Also does anyone else avoid the "NEXT TIME ON WALKING DEAD", I hate that shit, it needs to be taken away from TV shows, too many spoilers in them. Also I don't really think there are that many soldiers with the town, seems to be about 10 at the most and alot got taken out last episode.

Maggie didn't want Glenn to get hurt so she spilled the beans, Maggie has only came up against zombies, it's a different story when your held captive and surrounded by men with guns .That cabin guy was obviously crazy.

Only with Homeland, Game of Thrones, and Breaking Bad. Walking Dead is more of a fun show for me, so I don't mind the semi-spoiler nature of previews.

Walking Dead has fast become my favourite show this season, the group this season are so bad ass. Breaking Bad turned pretty silly last season as much as I enjoyed it.

@Bourbon_Warrior: Yeah they really aren't pulling many punches. I kinda wish they'd slow down a bit. For as painfully slow season 2 was, season 3 is a motherfucking blitzkrieg so far.
I actually really enjoyed season 2, gave you a chance to really get to know the characters, season 1 went so fast you really didn't get to know anyone and because of that a few death scenes have been really hard hitting that wouldn't of had the same impact otherwise.
It seems to fit in with AMC's half season break know, like breaking bad moved so fast last season it got a bit ridiculous, so many montages not enough chatting between characters.

I'm sort of with you on this. While I like the general pace of this season, a lot of characters are getting lost under the noise and viscera. Herschel and Beth have had barely any screentime, and the prisoners are mostly worthless.
Damn fine episode. It's episodes like that which keep me watching this show. Much as I seem to complain about it in here from week to week, I do usually enjoy the show despite what I consider it's faults, but every so often an episode comes around where it's damn hard to find something to complain about.
But find something I shall! The scientist scenes. They sucked. If that's really what the scientists research has been about, then every scene involving him has been a waste.
Also I thought part of the reason Michonne went to the prison might've been that she "recognized" Glen and Maggie, so to speak, from all the stories she'd supposedly heard from Andrea during their time together. How many young Asian twenty somethings can there be getting all lovey dovey with a country gal in the zombie apocalypse, after all? Then when that wasn't the case I figured at the very least she'd bring up Andrea and/or Merle and that would be how she'd gain their attention, and she'd hear the names Rick, Daryl, Glen, Maggie, a kid named Carl and put 2 and 2 together, because again, Andrea apparently told her everything about herself in the time they shared between seasons. Instead the show kinda rushed past that bit and Rick and his couple of dudes rushed off all gung ho rather than gain even the smallest amount of intel, and Michonne either didn't bother to find out their names, or is too dumb to put 2 and 2 together.
I feel like they did that so they could have the inevitable "Andrea!? Merle?!" revelations next week, which I'll probably be complaining about afterwards.
edit: Oh, and crazy cabin dude. He was unnecessary.

That's always been the case. Just really consider how much T-Dogg. Carol (up until this year, although even this year all she's done was disappear for an hour before being presumed dead and missing two or three episodes), Sofia, Beth (who's name I didn't even know until this season, and I still probably wouldn't if you didn't mention it first), and, hell, all the people who died who's names I can't even remember (everyone outside of Shane and Dale, I suppose) really ever did, or how well you got to know them.
@pyromagnestir: Yeah. You're right. T-Dogg was a particular travesty, really. Considering he had all of fifteen lines last season.

I have a feeling the actor who played T Dogg wasn't a very good actor because they killed him and replaced him with another black guy and you really can't tell that he's gone. Plus they gave him shit all lines in season 2, I feel their budget got cut a bit in season 2 because you had multiple episodes when people on the farm werent in episodes, I mean how big is this god damn farm plus 2 members of Hershells familys only dialouge was them screaming when getting killed. Would be cool if somehow they write Clementine into the story for fans of the game, she would recognize Andy.

Oh man, if they had a Clementine appear on the show that would be amazing. But that's never gonna happen, unless they had a family in the Governor's town that would resemble Clem and her family.
Michonne is pissing me off. Why hasn't she told the group that both Andrea and Meryl are in Woodbury? It would save a lot of time and unnecessary drama.
So, as soon as that black prison guy died (who they brought in as soon as T-Dog bit the dust), a new black guy is introduced. Is there a network rule of "only one black male cast member at a time"?
Andrea is the weakest character in the show now that Lori is gone. Still a damn good episode. Plenty of action. Anyone know how long the mid season break is?
He's Tyrese which is a important character in the comics. I do agree that it's weird how they've handled black characters this season. So, as soon as that black prison guy died (who they brought in as soon as T-Dog bit the dust), a new black guy is introduced. Until February, they said. No idea the actual date.
What a stunning episode. Probably my second favorite of the season behind the birth episode, which was the emotional highpoint of the series.

Does she actually know they're the group Andrea was with before?

Sooooo Andrea wasn't freaked out about the zombie head wall? Can she die now?
She asked him 'what the hell' that was about, and he said something along the lines of doing it to prepare himself for the horrors outside.

New episodes in February, according to that Windows 8 commercial.
Fantastic episode. Fantastic first half of a season too. Even if the kid's not the best actor, it's nice to see Carl getting written some good scenes.
Man, that fight between Michonne and The Governor was fucking brutal! After this incredible episode, the wait for February will be hard. I just hope the rest of the season continues to deliver on this level.

I know that feel, bro. Tyresse is an important dude, at least in the comics, so he'll hopefully stick around (Or maybe he won't...). I was really hoping Oscar would make it since he seemed like a really decent person. Also, I always felt sorry for Axel but now he just seems like a pervert. Oh well...

As he said, there was not a lot of women in prison. His social skills and desire with/for the opposite sex are probably off the charts. You can safely continue feeling sorry for him.

Don't feel sorry for him is all I'm saying.
That episode was crazy! I will put myself into a coma until February.
But yeah, a great episode. I should've seen Oscar dying though. They got a new black guy now. This is just ridiculous. I just know that if Deryl dies, I'm killing someone. He better never die. But that was a great first half season. Also, Andrea is such a fuck. I also see Carl shooting Axels brains out.
