I think I'd have to go with speaking. Because at least you'd be able to do things, AND still keep yourself entertained with games, music, etc. To communicate I'd just be online a lot, text a lot, and have to write on a piece of paper to friends. It would be insane though to go a whole month not being able to physically speak a word.
Today is sacrifice month, if you had to pick, which would you sacrifice? (Q of the Day 8-21-10)
Speaking.
To quote Depeche Mode:
Vows are spoken
To be broken
Feelings are intense
Words are trivial
Pleasures remain
So does the pain
Words are meaningless
And forgettable
Speaking. Easy one. Watching Breaking Bad DVDs and playing through Red Dead Redemption doesn't require me to talk. When I go out I can just take a notepad with me and write down what I want to say.
speaking, while it would be annoying not being able to curse someone out, its by far the easiest to go without at least for me.
I'd go Little Mermaid and sacrifice speaking. Then I'd go to somebody's marriage and point out how horny the priest is.
Speaking, I rarely talk, even to my own family.
As long as I can still observe, I'd be comfortable with never talking ever again
I like my voice, thank you very much. My feet.
It would be a pain to move around, but for me to study English everything else has to be working.
Sight to get to my classes without help, and note things, hearing because I need to hear lectures and classes, speaking for my phonetics class and hands to write stuff down.
" @TurboMan said:Oh man. The # of people being confused about this is awesome. lol." Sacrifice Month is one day? "Today is the day you choose what you'd sacrifice for a month. It's 'sacrifice month' day. "

"I think it would be very difficult without any of them to get around normally. Even not being able to speak, I think people underestimate the things you COULDN'T do, like order at a fast food restaurant from a drive-through. I mean just normal everyday things. No talking on the phone. Very interesting to see your take on it.
