I think fallout 3 be shit too but it really good.

Fallout 3 was great though the ending nearly brought the entire game down for me but the rest of the story and sidequests and just plain exploring kept it great. Great Choice and have a great christmas!

oh yes. this game always did look awesome. totally surprised that it's your number 1 though. ;)

My feelings on this game, mirror your's right down the line. I played as a good character (58 hours-finish) and I might put off playing it again until the DLC comes out. I've played about 8 hours with a new bad character, but I'm getting new games for Christmas... got to play those. Merry Christmas to you and a Happy New Year as well.

I can't argue with you on this one, I enjoyed the game a whole lot, even if the end was a kick in the nuts.

Well, the video's still alive, and it's the day after, so that's a promising sign. Never thought anything would beat NHL on your list (since you talked about it probably being your game of the year months ago), but hey, not a big deal - game looks great! Fantastic, really could not see that comin :) It is a awesome game, I am just putting off finishing it due to what I have heard about the ending :(

Great stuff Denis...in all honesty after seeing how much you were playing FallOut3 on Live...this wasn't that huge of a surprise :)   Take care buddy and have a great holiday!!

Dumb Choice.

I'm going to guess you would've ripped out the "OMG IT'S MY OPINION" card if I listed all the reasons why Fallout 3 shouldn't be GOTY. But just in general, you picked a bad time to announced your game of the year. You said you were playing it constantly a week before you made this list in some other blog, but if you had asked me what I thought GOTY was a week after I beat Saints Row 2, I would've said Saints Row 2. When you get off of an intial experience that you remember positively, you only remember the positives, and the little flaws get lost in your memory until a few weeks later. I probably would've said Prince of Persia was game of the year at a certain point in this month. Seems like you're too fresh off of the game, and can't make a rational decision.

But I was expecting this list to disappoint anyway, so it doesn't matter anyway. I'm not trying to say Fallout 3 is "the worst game ever" or even not "one of the best of 2008" it's just not GOTY.

I saw this coming the moment you started giving out your impressions on the game.  I've completed a small number of titles this gen compared to the overall games I own because I loose interest rather quickly.  Yet ironically I managed to complete a game that lasted me well over a month.   There's something special about that and it's why I can't argue against your pick. 

I should be popping this game in to my Xbox tommorrow :).
