I think the mods could make an exception here, I'd think; but yeah this stuff is awful.

There will be abuse anywhere in the world where there are people with power over other people, especially if those people can't say anything.

It's horrible but not at all surprising.

It is disgusting, The people involved should be charged and punished accordingly, If i walk up to a disabled person in the street and dragged them along the floor or slap their ear I would be arrested and charged with some sort of assualt, probably section 47: common assualt, And these people who are in a position of responsibility should be punished more harsly.

This has happened for a long time and usually the suspect is suspended then sacked and thats it, A politician who commits fraud by fiddling expenses should be charged with fraud and jailed for a minimum of 18 months(as thats the starting sentance for fraud) and because they abused their position and tax payers money they should be given a much stiffer sentance but they do not, Several people where jailed for the expenses scandel doing between 1-3 months each but only a handful of people where charged(scapegoats) and the majority got to pay money back and continue in their job, If i commited fraud i would be arrested and charged and offering to pay money back would make no difference, I would be fined and imprisoned or carry out a community sentance.

I only compare the two as it seems someone who commits a crime within a job of sorts escapes normal procedure where as the normal criminal is punished more where as i believe people who abuse power should be punished more.

Just one of the problems with society today, one rule for one and one for another.

totally agree - the good thing is 4 of the staff have been charged with these assaults.

as a nurse who has worked at points with people with learning and physical disabilities, this is utterly shocking and offended me to the core both personally and professionally.
