I had a realization last night while listening to some music.
It's probably most common in computer speakers, but i found that i much prefer analog volume knobs to digital.
Digital volume knobs with number association are usually too loud or too quiet. It always needs to be in between two numbers.
Analog is just so much more precise. I like to listen to music when i go to bed, and using the digital volume through the keyboard never gets the volume where i need it.

Anyone else feel the same?

I completely agree with you. The problem is that almost everything I own uses digital volume control.

@Allprox: The largest cog (on the left) should be turning right.

Weighing in on the topic... ;)
I find myself using the knob on my speakers much more than digital knobs.

What kind of music do you listen to when you sleep? Just ambient stuff?
I can't listen to anything with lyrics when I'm trying to sleep, I concentrate too hard on them.

Yep, definitely agree.  Digital is greatly inferior.

@foggel:@FireSketch: The movement is an illusion, the cogs don't even exist. 0_0

And just to be picky, they don't touch each other either.

I just listen to mellow stuff. Right now it's Norah Jones. I mix it up. Last week was some Buble. Ambient stuff just never works for me. It's gotta be something i know and i'm comfortable with. Lyrics don't bother me at all. I love a great voice. It calms me.

@DjTann3r: Norah Jones is great! Actually, although I can't listen to lyrics, the Bombcast has led me to sleep a couple of times.

Hell yeah, or the remote for my pre-amp is really precise, because it directly manipulates the volume knob, that's the only way keys will be a precise way to control volume.
