Well, this sucks. Speak what you will of his later work, the Nightmare series is a damn fine classic.

Edit: I wish well for his friends and family too. RIP.

Can't say I've ever seen any of his movies, but I've heard his name. Fuck cancer.

Same here. The Nightmare on Elm Street series has been a huge blind spot for me for years now. Time to finally watch those.

The last wes craven movie I watched was wes craven new nightmare. That was a weird one.

Fuck, man...Craven was one of the few horror greats. His contributions to the film industry definitely left an impression that will last for many lifetimes. RIP Mr. Craven.

My thoughts and prayers go out to this family, and friends. He most certainly left a legacy behind that will not soon be forgotten.

Sad to hear he passed, but unfortunately were reaching that time when all of the iconic directors of his era are getting super old. George Romero is 75, John Carpenter 67, Steven Spielberg 68, James Cameron is 61, this unfortunately may just be the start of losing more great directors over the next few years.

76 is not a terrible age, brain cancer is a terrible disease though. Not a fan of his later funny/teeny horror stuff but The Last House on the Left is a classic.

Just saw the news and knew there would be a thread created already on GB. I'm crying along side you folks. So damn sad. RIP Wes.

So sad. Watched Scream last night and man, that movie is still amazing. Obviously Craven didn't have a perfect filmography, but he made a lasting impact on horror films, and his presence will be missed.
