Good evening,

I've started reading comics over the last year or so and have been thinking recently about characters which appear and are intriguing, or have an interesting concept, only to disappear afterward. In particular, Gwen Poole with the Venom symbiote was charming, had an interesting take on the relation between host and symbiote, and seemed to embrace how weird things could get in that world, only for her to die at the end of her introductory Edge of Venomverse comic.

Does anyone else have a character with a smaller role, or not intended to be the focus in comics that you want to see more of?

@zandrake94: Dark Knight Returns batman got a phenominal reboot with Dark Knight Master Race, but now Id like to see more Carrie Kelly. vol 2 of dark knight returns really sucked but Miller really gave his all to redeem the series, would love to see more carrie.

The Endless in Sandman are quite unexplored, specially Delirium:

No Caption Provided

I think she is the most unexplored of the Endless, specially compared to some of the others. She has an interesting backstory that Gaiman intentionally left unspoken.

While not the author's intention, I would also like to see her interact with some other DC characters.

Ever since Marvel has been doing prestige drama television shows, I've desperately wanted a She-Hulk series, like superhero high jinks plus Ally McBeal. Super fun, super referential. I know that it's a pie in the sky idea, plus you would have to redo her origin a bit to fit in with the MCU, but overall I really think it could work, especially if the humor and tone is similar to the Single Green Female comics run.

That's like my super long shot dream.

Also, Ex Machina (the comic) would make a neat television show. I think because the comic was so cinematic (from what I can recall) it would translate well to that medium and also be something that people maybe haven't seen before. It was acquired by New Line Cinema at one point for an adaptation, but that never happened and now the creators have the rights back, so we'll see if anything ever comes of that.

I think despite some women even showing up in the films they don't get much air/screen time so here is my top 10 in no-order

Spider-Woman - It all well and good to do the Gwenn stuff...but where teh hell is some good old 1970s Spider-Woman?

Black Widow - Come the fuck on Marvel! Before Scarlett Johansson is done please just give her the asking price money for her to do a stand alone Black Widow movie!

She- Hulk - I think Hulk is under represented in the movies, but at least he GOT movies. Give us some She Hulk at the very least.

Psylocke - Yes, she did show up at least, but for fucks sake Munn is good enough to carry or Psylocke movie....if it fails it woudl be the script/director not her.

Wasp - I know, I know she is a lot of the last Ant-Man movie. Yet, still a stand alone Wasp movie would be great...maybe do it as a prequel movie to teh current Wasp;, i.e. her mother?

Batgirl - yeah, these days calling a grown-ass women 'girl' is pretty crappy. But, if the movie owned it, like 'we know ist cliched'. WIth that said, I think a Batgirl movie woudl make a ton of money....and yes I think a movie called Batgirl woudl make more than a movie called Batwoman. And, yes, that is creepy - but I'm not wrong.

Scarlet Witch - Again they have a pretty good actress for SW, so they might as well write a good movie around her...hell, put Vision in it too.

Harley Quinn - This will probably happen they have Margot Robbie, so if they do not make this happen they are STUPID! I mean give here 30 million or 10 million and 0.05 % because she is worth every penny! Just give her a good script and keep Jared Leto away from this movie. Make this movie about Harley, not Joker...not even a fucking cameo from Jared!

To be honest, I think a female team movie would be kick-ass. The female Teen Titans would be cool, but it is too bad they decided to do The Runaways as a tv show...because I think that woudl have worked as movie. Speaking of kick-ass I think a stand alone Hit Girl movie with Chloe Moretz as the adult hero would blow up huge. Or...or, if they were ever going to attempt a Power Girl movie I would cast Chloe Moretz because she has the acting chops & attitude to snipe at how silly her costume with the big window!

Silver Surfer. He got a half decent animated series and a really bad first go at live action movies. I've been saying for the longest time that he's prime for a proper video game these days. With how good space rendering graphics have gotten I think it's worth pursuing at least once. Imagine a game that is part flashy space sim and part character driven adventure game with all the craziness of Marvel's cosmic stuff. As of now the only Silver Surfer game in recent years is Furi (spoiler).

She-Hulk. If the MCU insists on continuing to push comedy for it's broaudience appeal then surely Jen Wallters is a natural fit for a movie or even a TV show. Would be nice if Netflix Streetimatic universe had more levity than it normally does. I played all of Saints Row IV as She-Hulk and it kind of works in a bizarre way.

I would say Billy Batson and the power of SHAZAM but I feel like we're already getting a better version with My Hero Academia.

I'm honestly kind of surprised that Invincible hasn't blown up into anything more than really great comic volumes. Heck it's basically a combination of Ultimate Spider-Man and Dragon Ball Z. What's not to like?

From DC I'd sort of like more of anyone who's NOT Batman or Superman at this point. It's kind of what's great about the CW-iverse. None of those shows are perfect but you get a lot of really off the wall C-tier heroes and villains. I love that we live in a world that Vibe, The Elongated Man, and Mr. Terrific are actual TV characters and not just cameos on Justice League Unlimited. If I'm expected to consume anymore Batman content it would need to be of the Zur-En-Arrh variety.

@monkeyking1969: A Black Widow movie has always sounded like a bad idea to me. She's a secondary character like Hawkeye, Fury, Scarlet Witch, Vison, etc. I can't see her carrying a movie that will be in the same league as the recent MCU stuff. An all female movie sounds a bit cheesy to me. Women should just have bigger roles in the movies, which has been the case in the last several MCU movies. It seemed like Okeya was in Avengers 3 more than Black Panther.

I agree with the people mentioning Silver Surfer and She-Hulk.

Blackwulf, I don't know why. He is objectively terrible but I read as I kid and have a strange fascination with him that I cannot explain. I'd also like to see Alistar Smythe and the Rose make a comeback. Can anyone guess from this cryptic information when I was reading Spider-man?

She Hulk will probably not get some content because of licencing reasons.

Hulk and all its "family" are in a weird legal limbo because they were licensed to Paramount years ago to make the Ang Lee movie, so Marvel does not own the entire rights to it. In fact, the Hulk (2008) movie was coproduced with Paramount, which means Disney/Marvel has to give a sizable piece of that sweet, sweet distribution money, which wasn't that serious at the time, because the MCU was a longshot and it wasn't the behemoth it is now. Some of the rights has been reversed, which is why he was in a better position than X-Men and Fantastic Four, but still...

That is also the reason why Hulk never had a second movie, and is reduced to co-starring in other assemble movies; which is a pity, because a courtroom drama starring everyone's favorite green hulking lawyer, or a proper Planet Hulk would be pretty good...

The Violator is important in the Spawn comics, but I'd have loved more focus on him, his past dealings with previous Hellspawn, and sordid adventures in hell.

Silver Surfer is a good one. I've love to see Wiccan get some attention too.

Hmm, I always liked Angela, and now she's with Marvel, so that'd be cool I suppose. Silver Sable's in the PS4 Spider-Man game, so that's great, even if her getup's kinda bleh. I liked Prowler a lot as a kid, but lookin at him now... yeah, he looks kinda lame lol. I'm one of those folks who likes Scarlet Spider and his silly sweater costume. Batwoman would be awesome. I think they're doing a show of her now? Little hope it'll actually be good, but we'll see. Fuckin The Question. Let's reboot all this DC trash with a goddamn focus on the Question lol.

I am kinda getting tired of comic book movies and I feel they should do less of them and not do all these movies about minor comic book heroes that nobody has ever heard of.

With a Captain Marvel movie forthcoming, I would like to see Ms. Marvel get a chance to shine a little. She embodies many aspects that I liked about teenage Peter Parker/Spider-Man.

DC is on a darker path than Marvel, but I would love to see goofy ol' Plastic Man get a short or something. I thought his appearances in the Brave and the Bold cartoons were fantastic.

Dick Tracy. Loved the movie as a kid and thought the characters were very unique. Plus, I’ve always had an interest in anything that has to do with gangsters.

Mark Millar’s Nemesis was a fantastic little tale about what essentially would be a reverse Batman story, instead of being consumed by grief and vengeance, the titular Nemesis is consumed by boredom and arrogance, and uses super Batman focus to train and become the ultimate super-villain. Nemesis is a quintessential world-wide Uber terrorist, an a lone FBI agent attempts to stop him. It’s really good and very violent, helmed by the same folks who worked on Kick-Ass. Wish it was made into a movie or mini-series.
