who here is totally psyched for the movie "district 9"?
what do you think about District 9?
" Confuses me. On so many levels. "I agree, but for now it seems like it is going to be spectacular.
Looks like an intense movie, I enjoyed Peter Jackson's: Lord of the Rings Trilogy and King Kong. I haven't heard too much at all about the other dude, this movie definately deserves far more publicity, and a 15 rating so that I can see this in the cinema.
" who here is totally psyched for the movie "district 9"?Just because a very successful and acclaimed director is producing a movie, doesn't mean it'll be good. I mean, Steven Spielberg was an executive producer of Revenge of the Fallen, and well, look how that turned out. Just saying, don't base your hype on who is producing the movie. :ppersonally, i would perfer a movie in which humankind would befriend the aliens, but hey, its produced by Peter Jackson so it must be awesome!"
I dunno though, I saw a trailer for it awhile back, and it got me interested for the movie. It looks like it won't make sense, and that's awesome.
Given that this is what became of the Halo movie (producer, production team, effects team, director, writer), I'm curious to see what they did with it.
The whole reason the halo film crashed is Microsoft wanted control, but didn't want to put in more money. When you have two studios putting in millions more than you are, you don't demand control. You will run them off.
Hmm... there seems to be a misconception that Peter Jackson is directing it... this is false. He's only a producer (not an executive mind you, and he's among several other producers).
I think D9 looks like it will be good.
I think the success of this movie could very well make or break a deal for a Halo movie. If director Neil Blomkamp can pull this movie off then the movie studios involved might finally give Neil a chance.
it looks alright but it also looks like its trying to hard, i dont know how to describe it, I really didn't like its tv ad.
" It's already coming out? I saw one trailer for it in the theaters a while ago and now it's coming out. Way to go marketing team... "That's how movies work bro. They show a trailer and then later on they come out.
" @Fr0Br0 said:But I would normally see a trailer during every other commercial break on every other TV Network. That's how it normally works for movies set to be released in a few weeks, especially Summer movies." It's already coming out? I saw one trailer for it in the theaters a while ago and now it's coming out. Way to go marketing team... "That's how movies work bro. They show a trailer and then later on they come out. "
It better be an awesome movie, because i think its really just a test to see if Bloomkamp is capable of directing Halo- which the studio clearly believes has major blockbuster potential. This is much like what happened when the Wachowski Bros directed the film BOUND.
" Let us go home"
You know, ever since I ran into this film, for some reason I have little or no interest in it. I like science fiction movies and have seen a lot of them, but for some reason I can't define I have no excitement for this movie. I'm not going to make any judgment call as to its quality, because (at this point) I don't care. I don't know why. I want to see Moon, so I still haven't given up on obscure sci-fi, but maybe when I find out more about the plot and see more from the trailers I might take a shine to it. We'll see.
