My last name means DANGEROUS in my native language.
What does your last name mean?
I've heard it comes from the word for a kind of fishing net in Sicily. There are a number of fishing towns that have my last name.
My moms side last name doesn't seem to mean anything.
My dads side name means "a perennial flower shrub or vine of the genus Rosa, within the family Rosaceae " "The name rose comes from French, itself from Latin, rosa, which was borrowed from Oscan, from Greek rhodion (Aeolic wrodion), from Old Persian wurdi "flower" (cf. Avest . warda, Soqdian ward, Parthian wâr)" (Woot, wikipedia!)
"Rose," if you haven't figured it out.
Deep, man. But seriously, a red flower with thorns on the stem.
Well my last name is Pendergrast and I got this.
English: variant of Irish Prendergast
Prendergast(Irish): Of Welsh origin and uncertain etymology. It is said by its bearers to have been the name of Flemish settlers in Normandy, who took their name from a lost place, Brontegeest, near Ghent in Flanders.
Got two different theories from two sources
One saying my surname translates to Champion
and One saying son of neil
Being that my surname is McNeil, I'll go with the second one, which sucks who doesn't want to be champion. Although the Neil, was a dude who went around jacking fools, bonus!
