What game do you love that everyone hates?
and I don't know what the jury is on Sonic Unleashed, but I really really enjoyed that game.

Final Fantsy XIII apparently. I'll admit that the game play takes a long time to get complex, but the story and characters are all usually somewhat interesting.
I'm gonna have to say Halo (the whole series) and Call of Duty/Modern Warfare (the whole series), because despite their critical and financial success, every time I read about them on the internet all I see is hate.
+1 for Mercenaries 2. I played it online with loads of unknown unmiked players but still it was effin magical destructive stupid joyful pointless fun. I was trying do all of the targets as live captures, which is really difficult if someone who joins you ingame without a mike doesn't realise. But when I started I'd get joined by people with staggering amounts of unlocks and cash who'd just call in two wow helicopters for us to go on a magnificenty bromantic destroy spree with. Then by the time I'd finished the game I'd do the same thing with people who'd just got it new. It cost me £5 inc p&p and why the fuck I sold it I don't know.
who is that in your avatar? It is driving me crazy because I feel like I have seen her before.
The .Hack series and any other JRPG.
If you get a chance you should also read this post I just did. It has to do with this post. Trust me.

shenmue 1 and 2,among my personal favorite games of all time and some of the best software to come out of sega IMO
I like Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy whereas most people hate it.
And I LOVE the STALKER series even more, which people hate a little less.

I wouldn't say people hate the STALKER series, but the games are generally not favored by many I guess. But I consider the series as the next best game series ever made after MGS. And that is Clear Sky included, especially since artistPavel releases the "complete 09" mod, only its for Clear Sky of course.
Kingdom Hearts, on the opposite side I've been playing the first Ratchet and Clank and I just cannot get into it. I play for about 20 minutes and get bored.
Dynasty warriors for coop
Blue dragon
FFXI and XII (lolz they're not FF)
God hand (lolz the bad graphics and tank controls)
Xenosaga - lolz it's not xenogears
Devil May Cry 4 - "I have to look at the same scenery for the second half omg and it COMPLETELY DESTROYED the game for me"
I enjoy those games, there're flaws and things I don't like about them but they're often being bashed for silly things that matter the least to me, and they get buried and people just seem to hate them for one or two things and ignore all the goods.
Like blue dragon having annoying characters, they weren't annoying for me and they were just kids, the combat and the world theme pretty much out weighs the bad, not to mention the good music and sense of adventure, also a good overworld map. Xenosaga is one of the only jrpgs I actually love how it was written and the thoughts they put into the story, it got a lot of hate for starting off slow with ep1 but it was merely crappy management, gears also started off slow and at the end they had to rush it, in comparison saga had a better paced out story and the writing/characters are more fleshed out and given emphasizes on, too bad some douchebag had to step in and fuck up the series with episode II, where some foreshadowing from ep1 were ruined and some tiny details never made it into the full game.
Brutal Legend
Modern Warfare 2 (though it is still the highest played game here on GB with the exception of WoW)
Kameo (its a good launch game! I played it 3 years after release and it still held up)
Final Fantasy VIII (better than FF VII !)
Final Fantasy XII (ok, story was weak and combat could be a little improved but it showed the future of FF. But fans complained and now we have FF XIII instead - the complete opposite of this game)
Majora's Mask (better than OoT !)
Tales of Legendia (I love this game!)
The "Tales of..." series in general.
(please please buy Tales of Vesperia (xbox 360) people...I want namco to release more "Tales of.." games in NA/EU. I neeed the enhanced ps3 version too :-(...... )
Received, at best, luke-warm reviews. I however am rather forgiving when it comes to Star Trek and, really, the game was a very capable tactical shooter.
"I'll get flack for saying it but JRPGs don't get much lower than FF VIII, ugh what a travesty. "
Second that.
I'm reaching way back but I've always liked Bayou Billy. I like the difficulty. I was obsessed with trying to beat it as a kid. Great music, too
Wanted Weapons of Fate. This game is goodish. If you took out the mines from later levels and the fact that there is only four hours of game-play it was good. It had great mechanics and you could charge forward and stab dudes. Shame about the story adn everything else that is wrong with this game
" Did people even read what this topic was? I mean...Halo? Kingdom Heats 1? GTA4? I have never met anyone you DIDN'T like these games. On topic, mine would have to be the Dynasty Warriors games or N3. Sure they are not intellectually demanding but sometimes you just want to sit back and destroy stuff. "There's a very vocal group online that hates games like Halo, GTA IV, etc.
But they by no means represent the majority of gamers, and in my opinion don't count as games "everybody hates".
