Do you guys have a favorite Show you have been to? I've been to a lot of Dave Matthews Band shows one of my favorites was when they played #34 after not playing it for 10 years.
I saw Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Nirvana in '91 all at the same concert. Wasn't a festival or anything like that. Just those 3 bands playing together. Pearl Jam wasn't even famous yet. Bing Crosby Pavillion in Del Mar. Amazing show. Ed Vedder scaled a 50 foot tall column and shimmied down a wire onto the lighting rack. The whole crowd which had been really rowdy up to that point were all just standing there with their mouths wide open. That was a brilliant show. Pink Floyd was pretty great too. Can't pick just one really.
" Van Halen in 08, even though I'm sure the GB community's view of Van Halen has been somewhat corrupted by the garbage that was Guitar Hero: Van Halen, the show was amazing and they still rock pretty hard. "I like Van Halen a lot.
Oh, absoutely. But to someone who grew up with them and highly respects them, it really bums me out to see them get kicked in the balls like that.
If Harmonix had made Rock Band Van Halen, it could have been amazing. It could have had a storyline, like the Beatles did, they could have progressed through their history, transition from David Lee Roth to Sammy Hagar, and their eventual comback a few years ago... and it could have had Michael Anthony, and...
Sorry, that was me dreaming again.
Not necessarily the best concert I ever went to, but probably the most memorable. I went to a System of the Down concert once with black slacks, an R.E.M. T shirt, and a black duster with a friend. All of the fans thought I looked weird and people started coming up to me at random to see if I was lost or something. However when I was able to name all of the band members off the top of my head they were impressed, albeit perplexed. Defiantly an unusual experience for them.
the first night of Phish's 09 reuinion run.
or their show at HersheyPark Arena this year.
or both nights in Philly last Fall.
Les Claypool was pretty good too. But Phish man...Phish!
PhishedOne isn't wrong either... while I still go with Radiohead and Muse, I was in attendance for the Raleigh show that became the "Walnut Creek" DVD, the opening of the summer tour to support Billy Breathes as well as Story of the Ghost. They are tremendous. Thanks to eBay and me not wanting to risk buying tickets outside, I have been unable to go to any since the reunion. Bootlegs though... thank goodness.
I'm too young to have seen anyone epic like Van Halen or the Rolling Stones, but I gotta say I went to Hard Haunted Mansion 09 and that was the coolest rave I've ever been to. Crazy cool feeling of togetherness, everyone having fun dancing with crazy light shows and stuff like that. Deadmau5 had by far the best performance I've seen at a rave, before then or since.
Second place would go to the Blazed and Confused tour. Smokin a blunt with a lawn full of homies while Snoop Dogg rocked The Chronic with Dre was great.
I've only been to one concert when my friend's ride bailed on them and they gave me his ticket when I drove them.
Dream Theater was incredibly amazing.
Show earlier this month featuring We Barbarians (a band I hadn't heard of before, but they put on a great show), Kevin Devine, and Thrice in SF. All of the bands had so much raw energy in their performances and Thrice played a lot of their older stuff.
It was incredible to say the least.
Flew to Finland at 4pm one Friday night to see HIM play. Backstage passes, amazing gig, got wasted all night with groupies, band members and random homeless people, flew home at 9am Saturday. So much fun. That and most festivals I have been to for the past 12 or so years.
Seen lots of bands but Meshuggah takes the crown. Those guys know how to put on a show! I've never seen such a unanimous excitement from a crowd. I'll never forget the chills I got when I stopped to look at the crowd headbanging in unison
