Subscriber dogg. I turn off adblock on a few sites I frequent and so far my favourite confusing ad is on Chainsawsuit for an Asian dating site. I am not Asian. It pops up constantly.

This reminds me of all the articles popping up about how ad-blocking is bad for business. Then they try to guilt the readers into white listing the site. Funny how there was no mention of shitty ass malware ads in any of those articles and how no site is immune.

I got some ads for Wagner ladders that were using Rey Mysterio, and I thought that was pretty dumb.

For some reason, I still get ads while watching live shows live. They're pretty normal.

I don't know why people just don't use AdBlock Plus. I've been wondering how many people don't know about the extension. Download it; all those ads you see on sites will be gone, whether that be before and in between videos or simply layered on the site's page.

People really shouldn't be complaining about this by now. I am actually kind of amazed. Download, DOWNLOAD, DOWNLOAD! Anyways, yes, no ads for me anywhere on the internet; it's fantastic. And furthermore, you don't have to be a member to not have ads.

@mordeaniischaos: It's not really worth it unless you're actively clicking on the ads. They're missing out on a few pennies, I hardly see it as a big deal. I originally turned on Adblock because the adverts were actually broken and prevented me from watching videos for weeks, I kept it on because the ads on this site are really tacky, if I even watch a video I'll watch it offsite on Youtube, and Brad's tantrum about how we are worse than Hitler just solidified me keeping it on.

I get ads for Microsoft Office and tech-things on CNET mostly, though sometimes the ad space is just empty with nothing in it. Actually now that I looked for them, I got a lot of empty ad spaces...

I get this one a lot, plus bank and car ads since I just bought a truck and switched banks.

That's Twitch's fault not the GiantBomb guys. Since Twitch introduced Twitch Turbo they automatically run ads on every live stream, unless you pay them $8.99 a month.

I don't disable adblock because I don't have a premium membership and I see this as the way for me to support Giant Bomb.

I once opened Giant Bomb on a school computer without signing in and was shocked to see how weird the site looks with ads. I never want to see that again, so I'll keep subscribing. Also I use Adblock so I wouldn't see the ads on this computer anyway.

Using adblock is totally fine, as long as you're using it to look at sites you wish would go out of business.

If that includes Giant Bomb you are a bad person

No, those are just everywhere. I get a lot of those for no reason as well.

I also started getting "Muslim dating sites" as well for even less of a reason, that was kind of weird. Might be more useful if Muslims weren't typically pretty big on only dating other Muslims. Especially the ones going to MuslimDates.com or whatever.

The ones I love though are like this:

After I spoke with a recruiter I started getting about 2-3 ads for the Marine Corps on the little ad sidebar on Facebook. Usually the other ad was for the Army. Maybe the Navy on occasion. And then Asian Sex Slaves, of course.

All of which I ALREADY HAVE GONE THROUGH WITH SO I DON'T NEED TO BE SOLD TO- Uh oh.

I've watched around 1 video in the past 3 months and pretty much only use the forums. You're free to think I'm a jerk, since to be fair Giantbomb are missing out on a dollar or so from me every so often but blocking ads on here doesn't bother me.

Fired up IE without logging in and after turning off that disgusting white theme I got a Statefarm insurance ad and an add for some supermarket I never heard of called Safeway.

Refreshed and on round two I got an HP printer ad followed by an ad for an intel business server. Ok...

Round three got me an ad for Canada Post delivery and some anime card game called Cardfighter Vanguard.

Round four netted me Netflix and $10 off an order of over $100 on contacts.

The fifth and final round got me and ad for some hotels website and that same safeway ad from the first time out.

Must say, the ads are really not that bad. They are terrible at targeting anything I would be interested in but they are not that intrusive. Do they do pre-roll ads before videos too? Those are god awful and make me instantly close any site I'm on if my ad blocker doesn't stop them. Nothing's more annoying than those fuckers.

How is looking at porn perverted? Everyone does it. I'm just always taken aback that in this day and age people try to hide that they look at porn. It's like being ashamed they go on the internet or play video games.
