I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that none of us want there to be a calendar refresh. Assuming our species survives long enough for it, the idea of saying "Yeah, I was born in 47042" is AWESOME.

I don't think it'll happen, everyone would have to stop and get used to the fact that they were in another era, which would be weird. If it did happen it would probably be at a change of millenia (so 2999/3000) to make things easier. If it ever did change, the most likely cause is us coming into contact with another civilization which has a different dating system, and if our two races became increasingly integrated, dates would be arranged 2500AD/63108Goblax or something, until one, either AD or Goblax becomes the dominant one, like how AD has effectively beaten out all other dating systems on Earth.
