Mine is Transformers 2...I enjoyed it, but seems like most people hated it
Whats your favorite movie that most people hate?
" Mine is Transformers 2...I enjoyed it, but seems like most people hated it "That's because that movie was horrible :p
Um...I will stand by movies that I enjoy, even if people hate them. I love Paul Blart, You Don't Mess with the Zohan, Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, Rocky & Bullwinkle and quite a few other poorly received comedies.
I can't think of any movies that a lot of people hate, but I like. I'm sure there are quite a few, but for the life of me, I cannot recall any.
Did people hate Twister? I loved that movie. What about MiB 1/2, or Independence Day? I love those too. Oh yeah, also, I liked Star Wars 1-3. Everyone and their dog seems to hate 'em, but I thought they were entertaining.
I never really go out of my way to see how others think of movies I like though, pretty much why I don't have many answers.
Good Burger,Observe and Report.
I'm actually really interested in all of the works by Jody Hill (wrote/directed O&R, directed The Foot Fist Way with a script by him, Danny McBride and Ben Best, which they all starred in, and co-created Eastbound & Down, which McBride & Best starred in.)
It's probably his weakest work so far, but he's really talented in terms of comedy and film in general, and I would like to see him do other genres.
" Hackers, Mortal Kombat, Smokin' Aces, Shoot'em Up "Hellz yeah dawg!
I'm gonna say, The Warriors, Romper Stomper, 3 Ninjas: Knuckle Up, and 3 Ninjas: High Noon at Mega Mountain
" i dunno but it seems like everyone i know thought Truman Show sucked. I loved that movie :( "Who hated Truman Show? That was a good movie.
I'd venture to guess that a lot of people who didn't like Shoot 'em Up thought it was being serious.
But, um, I actually like End of Days and Collateral Damage. I hated the ending of End of Days, but otherwise it was solid. There aren't many Arnold movies where he plays an older, more realistic guy, and I guess that's why I like those two. By more realistic, of course I mean by Arnold standards.
Rambo III isn't bad. Especially when put up against Rambo II.
Ang Lee's Hulk. I absolutely don't understand the hate for this film. It's a thinking man's Hulk (or at least an artsy man's Hulk), if there can be such a thing.
Magnolia. I won't argue that it's not pretentious, and no, I don't understand why it rained frogs. Still, I love the movie, and Tom Cruise was very good.
The Machinist. I haven't seen a lot of hate, per se, but most people just call it weird and something they wouldn't watch again. I consider it a horror film, and it's pretty damn awesome.
I dunno, there's probably a bunch more...
I completely understand why these movies get so much hate but I really like them and own them all on blu-ray now:
Transformers and ROTF, Matrix Reloaded and Matrix Revolutions and Final Fantasy the Spirits Within,
Theirs also a crazy amount of bad b to c grade action movies I own on dvd, most of them probably featuring jason statham or jackie chan lol. Also I thought Avatar was one of the greatest movies of all time and cant wait for the blu-ray. :P
Critically speaking, Richard Kelly's post Donnie Darko movies are universally panned as fucking baffling pretentious wankfests, which they are. But man, they're soo good. Soooo good. Ed Wood 2.0, you have to sincerely think you're making high art and fail as badly as Richard does to make such quality B movies.
" Starship Troopers, Spawn, and all the Jurassic Park movies. And I hate to admit it but Dumb and Dumber also. "Wait, what? People love Jurassic Park and Dumb and Dumber.
Though, I will say Spawn gets on my list of "movies I love that aren't good but I love them but they aren't good".
I think all my favorite movies are well liked. I'm pretty sure at least...
I mean come on, who hates Zoolander and The Matrix?
Kung Pow?Good call. I loved it too.
Tho none of my friends "hate it" because they just don't consider it worth watching.
I'll also add Pootie Tang!
Transformers 1 and 2. I think its just 'internet cool' to hate Michael Bay, so that means they can't like these movies...
Step Brothers. A lot of my friends hate it because of how juvenile the humor is, and critics hate it for this reason as well, but I really love this movie. "John Bonham's playing Moby Dick for real!"
" I'd venture to guess that a lot of people who didn't like Shoot 'em Up thought it was being serious. But, um, I actually like End of Days and Collateral Damage. A lot of movies posted so far people don't actually hate.
You just wish they had to make you feel special and different. :)
Con Air (wait wat?)
Truman Show
Highlander
Avatar
Mortal Kombat
Smokin' Aces
Are all decent movies. There might be some divisive opinions but saying most people hate them is a stretch.
I mean even on geeky gaming forums like ours where people like hating on Avatar and Transformers 2 most people admit Avatar was decent or good, just over hyped.
SW prequels do seem to be hated on for mostly baseless reasons.
Sure there was that one midichlorian blunder but that's about the only valid thing there is and I can look past that easily.
If you were offended by Jar-Jar that's just being an uptight asshole thinking cute thoughts like the SW universe is all mature and serious and special and stuff.
And Vader was a sissy indecisive bitch before the prequels anyway :P
I blame nostalgia goggles for making people unable to criticize the originals.
Overall I enjoyed 1-3 just as much as 4-6.
Speed Racer, the Spirit, and Josie and the Pussycats.
I just don't understand why people don't "get" them.
