Do you even have an alarm clock anymore or do you just use your phone? I used to have an alarm clock and I had it right next to me but the buzzer sound would always wake me up so abruptly that it would startle me enough to think I was having a miniature heart attack every morning for about 2 years straight. Now I use my phone and sometimes I leave it in my pants pocket so it is muffled and I don't always hear it go off - causing me to be late for important things like work and school. I tried putting my alarm out of reach so I would be forced to get up but its success rate is far less than ideal.
Where is your alarm clock?
My alarm clock is used more for telling the time and less for the alarm feature.
Back when I used an alarm clock to get up really early for school, I had one with an absurdly offensive sounding alarm. The sound represented having to go to school early and being tired so I associated that sound with that feeling ever since. Now every time I hear it I get cranky and tense. The alarm sound was like Fran Drescher from the nanny laughing in my ear. You can imagine why it would make me upset.
I have a pretty good internal alarm clock but I still need to use one for when I need to wake up very early and I know I'm not going to get enough sleep.
I use my phone as an alarm and keep it by my pillow. Sometimes me moving around during the night makes it fall to the floor but its loud enough that I'd hear it regardless of where I managed to kick it in my sleep. I usually wake up five minutes before it goes off anyway though except for when a new school semester starts since the time to wake up changes.
Across the room so I have to get out my bed to shut it off. It's on radio so sometimes I wake up to some sweet ass music or perhaps a funny radio show, laughing/dancing out of my bed. That's the best way to get up.
Sometimes I wake up to some horrible ass songs though, in which case I am always pissed off.
I've on more than one occasion, I've set both my phone alarm and DS alarm... and slept through it all. I need a real alarm clock.
Just use my phone. I barely get any signal thanks to Orange being useless so I may as well use it like a clock.
" Alarm clock on the far side of my room. "This is me, too. I have it placed where I need to get up out of bed in order to turn it off. Oddly enough, I really don't use it too often these days since my body has accumulated itself to getting up at approximately the same time every morning. When I set my alarm, I usually turn it off before it rings because I am already up.
