No one would win, given currently technology and the political alliances everyone has I believe that the vast majority (or all) of the surface of the world will be attacked and destroyed, most likely with nuclear fallout making sure that everyone who survives loses as well.

If you think about it, England's screwed because it'd only take a few Nukes to put all of our populated areas out of commission. We're like the Humans in Alien vs Predator.
The Untied States would win. The US has more and better allies than any other country, and it has a far more advanced military. Sure one obvious answer is China, because everyone wants to think China is this unbeatable superpower. But China has no real way to mobilize its troops, sure it would be able to defend its country but it would not be able to efficiently invade a country that is separated by water. And most Chinese troops wouldn't even make it to the mainland US, the American Navy is way to superior.
And I doubt nukes would be used. The only people dumb enough to use them are countries like Iran, and Korea. And they won't have enough to "end the world". The main reason the US has nukes is to deter countries like that from even thinking about using them.
Canada dosen't have Nukes or military. Anyways, either China or the US would win, simply because of size and military might. If we assumed that a nuke could take out a city or 2 (WW2), then China/USA have the advantage since they have so many cities.

That's why they will win. No one will suspect them.
If you take NBC weapons off the table, it's still hard to say without any clue as to why the war started. Assuming the NATO alliance remains in tact, then we win. The US alone would have naval supremacy and the US & EU combined would almost certainly have air supremacy. Infantry numbers alone don't really count for a lot.
With nukes, no one would really win. Without nukes, the United States.

honestly thats a bit ignorant a) it dsnt matter how much you invest into the military as long as you have nuclear technology, at that point all you need is a few nukes to cover all of teh world b) nobody would win, because if it was at the wwiii point, everybody would get screwed, even if they had far superior military tecnhonolgy c) TRUST ME, if there is a war, itll be a nuclear war, China wouldnt bother to drag its ass all the way to american soil :P

Hahahahaha this is true, but I'd hate to see someone try to invade mainland England. Nearly impossible to invade.
@wealllikepie: Honestly this is a bit ignorant, if kids on the internet realize that a nuclear war would end then world, then obviously world leaders do to. What would the point of fighting be if the world gets destroyed? We went through the entire cold war without a nuke going off, and thats because people don't want the world to end.
I would have to go with China on this one, they would win by sheer numbers alone and their military tech has been improving at an exponential rate lately. Really the only other contender is the U.S., and that's only if they come out with some groundbreaking new technology (i.e. nanosuits). Russia I don't think would "win", but it wouldn't lose either, since its landmass, geography and weather conditions make it nearly impossible to conquer.
But really, the chances of any country coming out on top in an all-out war is probably very small.
