Of course, Brad seems like a pretty legit guy. I'm sure brad is good at video games, but plays worse when on video.
Would you let Brad play video games with you?
I don't think anyone's disputing whether or not Brad's "the man." Brad is a delightful little fella whom I want to continually hug and make pancakes for. However, during Quick Looks and Endurance Runs, he is really not a terribly good player. This is not a strange, unfair conclusion to come to. When viewed objectively, that's just the truth. He doesn't think things through. He's not alert. He panics easily. He's the only staff member who regularly makes me groan and yell (so to speak) at the computer screen.
But that doesn't mean that Brad's not awesome. Sure, I'd play games with him. Gladly. I'd love to be friends with the man. But straight up, whatever skills this man has off-camera, he does not display them very often on-camera. I'm not the best player either, but let's call a spade a spade. Homie's usually not all that sharp on-camera.
Not of all of us are great speakers under pressure. Brad has declared that he is not a good public speaker. For most people it is pretty damn hard to be gaming, trying to explain the mechanics of the game, while being asked questions. Like Vinny and the Persona 4 ER, sometimes while playing and talking, things tend to get forgotten or unnoticed. So what if he misses some things or dies every now and then, Brad is an enthusiastic game journalist with an extra dash of "lawlz" every now and then.
So yes, I would play games with Brad.
As it has been said, don't fucking watch it if it bothers you that badly.
I just have a bad tendency to get angry when I'm watching someone play and they don't do it how I would. Didn't expect this big of a reaction!
Welcome to the club, this must be your first Endurance Run. Everyone who watches an ER spends most of the time screaming at the screen when they miss some obvious thing or keep doing the same stupid mistake over and over again. It's part of the shows charm and just something that you gotta endure to enjoy the rest of it. It's not just an Endurance Run for the guys playing it to have suffer through bad game play and be forced to dance like little monkeys for our sick amusement, but the audience has to endure those annoying quirks of the guys playing it.
If you cant handle it then don't watch it.
Hell yes. We'd have a blast, and I'd intentionally stress him out so he would do worse! Stressed out Brad is hilarious!
Besides, one veiwing of someone playing DP is enough for me.
And yes I woudl play a game with him, I am not a prejudice gamer;)
" I just have a bad tendency to get angry when I'm watching someone play and they don't do it how I would. Didn't expect this big of a reaction! "I fully agree. The RE5 DLC quick look literally had me frothing at the mouth. You're not alone, buddy.
Though I'd still totally chill with Big Bad Brad. I just don't know if I'd really want to play L4D2 or Killing Floor, or some other really stressful co-op game with him.
I sure would. He seems like exactly the kind of guy I could play games with for a couple of hours. Never get angry over bad performances, either, since
Brads "style" (that's stretching it) is just awesome fun. Don't know how someone could be pissed by a "gaming performance". We're not at EVO, duders.
Don't forget these guys can't play a lot of ONE game but much rather HAVE to play through dozens and dozens - many of them far away from being compelling
masterpieces.
Reminds me of the crap going on on Shoryuken when the Bombers streamed their SSFIV session. At least they called the sh*storm five minutes in ...
You really should try entertaining an audience and playing a game at the same time. It's a lot harder than it looks.
I would. I generally just like to play for fun anyway. Even when I play online games, I don't worry too much about my teammates skill levels. Even if they suck and will cause us to lose every time, all that matters to me is that they're having fun. Oh, and it helps that they're not betraying me or anything. If they just suck, whatever. It'll just make me look even better. Ha!
