So i saw that "Arguments for the existence of God" thread again in OT and it reminded me of the idea that's been rolling around in my head for a while.
People say that God started the Big Bang, the explosion of a tiny piece of something that has been expanding faster and faster ever since that moment. Before that there was an infinite amount of nothing. What if somewhere in all that nothing, there was another something that exploded and has been expanding faster and faster ever since, but it never reaches our something because there is an infinite amount of nothing separating the two. And what if there's actually an infinite amount of those somethings and this has been happening forever. Sure makes our something seem like nothing.
I know that doesn't quite prove or disprove anything, but it's fun to think about. Isn't it amazing that the human brain is capable of visualizing something of such ridiculous size... reminds me of that Emily Dickinson poem:
The Brain is Wider than the sky
For put them side by side
The one the other will include,
With ease, and you beside
Your brain a splode (Blog Post)

What if we're all just Sims in a galactic version of the Sims that aliens just feel like playing all the time?
"Sincillian said:Some people actually believe that. I'd be scared if a green diamond suddenly appeared over my head."What if we're all just Sims in a galactic version of the Sims that aliens just feel like playing all the time?"thatd be scary if all of a sudden i was magically placed in a room with no doors or windows, and i urinated on the ground until i died."
OK, what if we are just AI in a video game? Like, what if there's some kid somewhere playing some sort of SimCity, and we are just AI citizens? How do we know we aren't artificial? What if the "creator" is just a programmer in THE REAL REALITY??
Woah, someone totally posted something similiar to his like 10 minuites ago and I didn't read the comments.
"People say that God started the Big BangWhile you could be right, what you said in that post contradicts itself.
Yes, Stupid people.

If there is an infinate amount of nothing, there cant be something else. So right off the bat you have dug yourself a hole you cant get out of.
And what if there's actually an infinite amount of those somethings and this has been happening forever.
Like i said above, if there is an infinate amount of nothing, there cant be infinate amount of somethings. Thats like saying there is no such thing as an apple while one is sitting right infront of you on your desk.
That's what i get for talking in absolutes. In a more digestible form: What's to say the circumstances for the creation of our universe haven't existed before, and don't continue to happen as we speak.
your right gunner, initial paragraph is a giant double negative, and the idea of infinite nothingness with somethingness smack dab in the middle is impossible to imagine... which is why our universe doesn't make sense
"If there is an infinate amount of nothing, there cant be something else. So right off the bat you have dug yourself a hole you cant get out of. "Pffft... that is SO narrow minded. You just aren't thinking 4th dimensionally. What if there's an infinite amount of parallel universes?
"and what if there was another universe that imploded into nothing and then exploded in our universe"

I don't know what to believe anymore!
