Introducing the PS4 Giant Bomb community: What Is Overwatch?

I went ahead and made a community for Giant Bombers playing Overwatch on PS4. Anyone can join so come on down and party up with your fellow duders!

If I join this, will you guys promise to at least try to capture objectives and not just camp around them like you've never even HEARD of Team Fortress? Hate this game so much sometimes...

Sorry this is probably a very silly question but, uh, how do I join the community?

@rainvillain: Go to Friends -> Communities -> Search for "What is Overwatch"

There should be an option to join on the community page.

Had 3-5 of us on for a solid 3 or 4 hours last night. Was a good time...maybe start up a party/voice chat next time though?

just got done with a solid squad of 4-5 for a couple hours. good games fellas.

@piglet: I don't know if you were in the group I was in last night, but make sure to hit options, go to social and join the group chat from there. I don't know if you tried that, but if anyone else is unaware then that'll get you into your group voice chat. If you have auto join voice channels off, you have to do that manually. I was in a group with 4 people from the community last night and only 2 of us were in the group voice chat. I don't know if they just didn't want to be on voice(which is fine) or were unaware of the group voice channel. So, I'll just throw this out there for anyone reading it.

@gtoor14: I'll just join if there's a party going in the Community's "Now Playing" page, and after a while I've started getting invites when people just see me online which is nice. So I guess either works!

We've gone over 100 members which is awesome. Don't be afraid to create parties and send out friend requests!

Do you have to friend other people to join their game in Overwatch? I joined a party and could hear them talking but didn't know how to get into their game?

@excessdebris: there's an option on the community page to create/join a party and you don't need to be friends with anyone if there's room to join. You would then need to pick a player in the party, hit options, and join session. The option may not be available if the team has 6. You can also message a player in the party and ask for an invite.

@bigdaddytool: thanks. I wasn't sure if I needed to friend folks. I had a good time playing overwatch with you and the other gb folks today. Sorry I wasn't chatty I don't always have a mic on me. Hopefully I can play with you guys again soon. I'll keep an eye out for a party group in the community.

Hey, I've been playing Overwatch non-stop since it came out, but the couple of hours I played with y'all tonight were by far the most fun I've had. Thanks for the great time, Duders. Anyone eyeballing this thread and on the fence about joining, I cannot recommend it enough!
