Ryan Davis, 1979 - 2013

I don't even know what to say. It's so strange feeling this way about a guy I'd never actually met, but felt like I knew for years. I remember listening to the HotSpot back in the day, then Arrow Pointing Down, then Giant Bomb. I've been listened to Ryan Davis almost every week for damn near a decade.

To everyone who knew Ryan personally, I can only offer my condolences.

God, what a bummer.

Ryan, you'll be missed.

I am absolutely floored right now. Ryan was the same age as me... I can't believe this. It's just horrible. My condolences to everyone who knew and loved Ryan.

I'm not even sure what to say. I've just been sitting here, staring at my Twitter feed for almost two hours, crying and crying. Part of it's the shock, and part of it's knowing how deeply this is effecting the rest of the GB crew. (And his wife as well.) I keep hoping that this turns out to just be some horrible joke, simply because anything, no matter how tasteless, would be better than this being real.

Man, fucking sucks. Thanks for the laughter.

This is completely sad and devastating. We will know the reasons soon enough, but please let something come good come out of this. I know this will be horribly tacky, but I mean it in the most positive of ways because their is now a gaping hole on this website. Please keep yourself in good physical condition. It's vitally important. No one wants to lose anyone like this.

Such a great personality who entertained me for so many years is now gone.

Despite having never met Ryan, I'm incredibly heartbroken and still hoping this is all some terrible dream. He was someone I looked up to. I can't even imagine what his friends and family are feeling. My thoughts are with you guys.

You are right. It is the worst time to say it. On the day of someones passing in a public forums where people would rather share their condolences. There is an appropriate time to talk about it, but the day of the tragedy isn't one.

This is terrible. Met the Giant Bomb crew at PAX a few years back and Ryan was the most receptive to our approach, joking and carrying on. You could tell he really appreciated his position in the gaming world. My thoughts go out to his family, both immediate and Giant Bomb.

Rest in piece Ryan. Wherever you are now, its a better place for it. I will be sitting here listening to your last podcast crying like a little girl, remembering how your rants and your interesting discussions on gaming and others got me through the grind of farming for gold in WoW or simply driving and listening to you. Thank you duder, you were one of a kind!

Holy Shit! I can't believe this. This is going to take a while to sink in. I feel for all his friends and family.

Can't believe he just got married and then this, thats just fucked up plan and simple.

Was kind of shocked at first, but now it's really setting in. Never met him, but I'm on the verge of tears now because no matter how pathetic it sounds, Ryan Davis and the rest of bomb crew helped me through high school and failed attempt at college and helped shape the person, I am today.

Rest in Peace, and condolences towards his loved ones.

There's nothing I can say to put this into perspective. We are crushed. Thoughts are with his family and friends.

I don't know what to say. He was just married, all the friends and family he impacted...this is just absurd. Crazy. My biggest condolences if this is indeed true and not a wedding joke of sometime.

I definitely want some answers though, questions as to how and what happened.
