Poll Which Version are you going to buy/bought? (323 votes)
I am torn on which version to buy. I like the portability of the switch. However the D-pad (even on the pro controller) and the fact I am playing sonic on Nintendo is throwing me off.

@glots: does having a pro and 4k tv really make a difference with this game? I'm not being mean just want to know if the framerate is better or something.
@glots: The art is 16 bit equivalent...
You could run it at 10 million P and it wouldn't look any different.
Depending on the upscaling it could look worse on a 10,000,000p screen, so you're wrong ;)
But yeah this is deffo one of those games that'll look nice and colorful on a good display, but this isn't tied to resolution at all as the textures aren't 4k and they isn't 4k's worth of data on the screen and there is no aliasing to worry about. A screen with a good contrast ratio and nice vibrant colours then OH BOY

Vita.... :(
I voted Switch, but this is the real answer. For portability, the Vita beats the Switch hands down.

I feel like this game is too detailed for the Vita's screen. It would be easy to lose track of what was going on.
I think I'll play this on the Switch. Sonic on Nintendo has long since lost its charm for me (many of the best recent Sonic games were Nintendo only, like Colors and Lost World and...Boom. Oh god. I just remembered Sonic Boom exists! Nooooooooo!) but it is a good platform this kind of game.
@glots: Digital Foundry said nothing about inconsistent framerate and from my experience it's been a locked 60fps. There is however reports of a delay when pressing the Home or Power button
I picked up the PS4 Collector's Edition, but will probably get the Switch version as well - when they fix whatever bugs and frame rate issues that have been coming up on it. Have not heard great things for the Switch version so far, unfortunately. Also, if there was a Vita version, i'd go for that over the Switch just because of the D-pad.
This is a good Sonic game.
@bigsocrates: I played through a couple of the DS Sonic games (not to mention the Game Gear ones!) and they worked fine on those tiny ass screens, so I think I'd be able to manage on the Vita. I mean, the Switch's screen isn't that much bigger and has about the same pixel density as the Vita's, so I can't imagine it would be that much worse.
Have Switch Collectors Edition pre-ordered from Amazon. They STILL have not shipped it. It doesn't even have a physical copy yet I cannot get the code until it arrives. Ordered it in April. What a bunch of BS!!!
@evilcalvin: sorry man though I'm jealous I wish I got the collectors edition
The last few Sonic games I have bought have been on Nintendo consoles, so I will stick with that. It also lets me postpone buying Mania because I do not plan on getting a switch anytime soon.
@jamin724: I think people are just excited when anything of note comes to Switch. I'm certainly in that boat.
I got it on my Switch. The portability was a big plus, as was the general lack of Switch games I don't own on another system already.
I got it on the Switch.
I have a PS4 Pro, XBox One, PC with a GTX 1080 and I basically wish the Switch was powerful enough to eliminate the need for all those other gaming systems.
