SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated Announced

Are you ready, kids? The cult classic is back, faithfully remade in spongetastic splendor! Play as SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy and show the evil Plankton that crime pays even less than Mr. Krabs. Want to save Bikini Bottom from lots of rampant robots? Of course you do! Want to underpants bungee jump? Why wouldn't you! Want to join forces in a brand new multiplayer mode? The battle is on!

Remake of the popular 2003 licensed game announced for PC (likely available on both GOG and Steam, if THQ Nordic's current policy continues), PS4, Xbox One, and Switch. The description on YouTube suggests it is a Crash N-sane/Spyro Reignited style remake, not a simple remaster, as well as revealing the addition of a coop mode.

I'm sure their new friends at 8chan will be stoked.

Never remember playing the game so I have no real nostalgia for it, but would love to see how the gameplay has aged from 2003. I bet the crew will take a look at it at some point.

I remember really liking the Movie-based video game when I was a kid, and from what I've seen it was just reused gameplay from this one, so I'm interested at least. Hope the visuals are more impressive than that Kart game that came out recently that looked like it was still using those PS2 Spongebob assets...

I had the weird, crappy PC version as a kid. I might check the real game out now.
