The Steam Winter Sale is live! What is everyone looking to pick up at discounted rates? I'm personally being tempted by Yakuza: Like a Dragon, even though the discount isn't super steep (on sale for $45). Will definitely be picking up a bunch of cheaper games too.
Steam Winter Sale 2020
Maybe Phasmophobia to see what all the hype is about, other than that nothing really, already have Spelunky 2 on PS4.
@frymillstrum: Phasmophobia is good, but really shines in a group so trick your friends into buying it.
Nearly everything on my wishlist was on sale, christ.
Trying out Noita and Cold Waters.
@finaldasa: Wow, Epic is getting aggressive with this competition.
Dang, I really like having everything in one place (Steam), but I guess I'll have to cross check my wishlist with Epic and see if anything is cheaper there.
@finaldasa: yeah, I bought Destroy All Humans today with the coupon and they gave me another one ^^
@finaldasa: Wow, Epic is getting aggressive with this competition.
you can get cyberpunk for 20 bux with the coupon and 30 normally lol.
I bought Prodeus (not on sale), Hellspoint, and Project Warlock.
When I force myself to spend the money, I am thinking of Hades, and especially Wasteland 3. Wasteland 3 has my interest because I haven't played computer based-Rpg's to really have a feel for them. But this seems like a game that would really appeal to me, something different than fantasy based.
Haven't bought anything yet, but Tell Me Why and Blacksad are high up there. Maybe Jedi Order too, but I think I have enough I want to play in my backlog I can wait longer on that one.
@sparky_buzzsaw: I just played Fallen Order and can definitely recommend it at the current price. Also definitely going to pick up Tell Me Why.
@bybeach: Did you start Prodeus yet? Is it awesome? Definitely going to pick this up when I make my other purchases.
I'm bargain diving, looking at a selection of games like
- Styx: Master of shadows (1,99€)
- Sherlock Holmes: The Devil's Daughter (1,99€)
- Thief (2,99€)
- Murdered: Soul Suspect (1,99€)
- Marc Ecko's Getting Up (1,99€)
- Cat Quest (1,29€)
- Reprisal Universe (1,04€)
- Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (2,49€)
- Devil Daggers (1,99€)
- Death's Hangover (0,44€)
- Dungeon Souls (2,15€)
- Heat Signature (2,59€)
- Cradle (2,59€)
- Omnibus (0,79€)
- The Last Door Season 2 (2,49€)
- Linelight (2,04€)
- Chuchel (2,49€)
Bought last year's F1 2019 for €10 to sate my open-wheel curiosity after not having played Formula One games since the Geoff Crammond Grand Prix 3 days. Thought also about nabbing 'art of rally', but it would be 10 euros cheaper on EGS with their adjective-of-choice coupon cascade.
I just started looking, and I'm not sure if this is a me problem or a Steam problem. I'm having a hard time finding games I missed out on, while I keep seeing the same big-ish games I keep passing on, like Master Chief Collection, Sea of Thieves, and Rockstar's games.
Right now I'm at the "Well, I could buy Yakuza 0 again, since it's only $5" phase of the Steam sale.
@clagnaught: Hit the ignore button beneath a game you aren’t interested in and Steam will stop showing it to you. Also go through the Steam suggestion queue every once in a while and ignore or wishlist what comes up. Steam gets better and better at suggesting new games the more data you give it.
@shindig: The base version doesn't have that (or any other) DLC. Decided not to buy that Legends Edition since it seemed to be not worth it. The actual game itself, on the other hand, seems great after brief testing.
@clagnaught: the discovery queue is the main avenue of finding new games for me. And i guess i have quite a beefy wishlist & game history on Steam as well that helps them to find stuff i like.
I went through 3 queues in the last few days and uncovered like 15 games to keep my eye on. I hadn't heard of 6 games before at all. (Medieval Dynasty, There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension, Creeper World 4, Ultrakill, World of Horror, Sakuna: Of Rice & Ruin)
I got a buncha cool shmups, Jamestown+, Blue Revolver, Super XYX, Alltynex trilogy, Danmaku Unlimited 3 (double dipped have it on switch), Hellsinker, Steel Vampire...
... and EVERYONE HERE who can enjoy a little shmuppy action should buy ZeroRanger, go buy it! It's on sale! hell of a game!
Current acquisitions are Space Court, Yuppie Psycho, Library of Ruina, Golden Light (no idea what the hell this is, very excited), G-String, Jet Lancer, Stone, Othercide, Raging Loop, The Floor Is Jelly, and the absolutely baffling The Long Drive
Refunded Cyberpunk 2077 and spent part of that on Mass Effect Andromeda. Guess after almost 4 years, it's finally time for me to know...
Yakuza Like a Dragon is pretty great, the combat does make it feel like a whole party against another party, it's not like the characters are set in concrete between turns, it is more free-flowing than that and works. The story started off slow but it keeps getting more complicated as it goes. These Yakuza games are awesome.
@infantpipoc: boy.. talk about a trade.. as a person that has played and finished Andromeda last year the worst that I can say about the game is that it’s just boring.
I have too many games to actively search for deals but that didn't stop me from getting Super Meat Boy Forever off Epic for $10, Yakuza Like a Dragon for $45 on Windows Store just for the Xbox Play Anywhere (got a Series S for my bedroom), and that RT enhanced version of Observer on Steam for $10
Observer: System Redux (upgrade from the original release that I already owned)
Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time
Pumpkin Jack
Hades
Apsulov: End of Gods
Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy
Return to Castle Wolfenstien
DMC5 Vergil DLC
Kinda just expected to get Hades but just kinda went for it anyway.
@colourful_hippie: Make sure you close the App when you're done with SMB https://hothardware.com/news/epic-games-shenanigans-with-cpus
Alright after days of deliberation, I finally pulled the trigger on:
- Final Fantasy IX (never played it before)
- Darkest Dungeon
- Prodeus (not on sale)
- Into the Breach
- Wide Ocean Big Jacket
- Donut County
- Yakuza: Like a Dragon
I just hope I don't regret not waiting for Yakuza to come down in price.
@treetrunk: Haven't noticed any spikes on my 9900k but I'll keep an eye out, thanks.
