Smash Bros. 3DS Demos are a-coming

It was announced on the current Treehouse live stream that Super Smash Bros. for 3DS will be getting a demo drop on the 3DS eShop on the 19th of September.

However, two sets of people will be getting their demo today:

• If you're in North America and put of something called "Club Nintendo Platinum," you should start F5ing your email inbox.
• If you're in Europe and part of Club Nintendo (Not Platinum since we don't have whatever that is) you should be doing similar.

Finally, you'll be getting FOUR codes. One for you, three for your friends. This is totally not a stealth "Hey, fellow Europeans with a spare code - hook me up" thread.

Also, I'm pretty sure codes are region-locked, so you won't be able to do any cross-continental giveaways, unfortunately.

Is the 3DS version more anticipated than the WiiU? Or are they releasing demos for the 3DS because it's the first handheld version of the game?

@lukeweizer: It's probably more to do with the 3DS version actually having a release date. It just came out in Japan and is out in the West next month; Wii U is still just "2014," which it probably isn't going to make at this point.

Oh man, how does one get these codes? Is it all Club Nintendo members or only certain ones for Europe?

I got platinum and still haven't got my codes. I'll update as soon as I do and post my extra ones. Hope it's not a long wait.

@gunslingerpanda: I dunno if this is BS or not, but I heard (from GameFAQS) the Japanese release date is November 19th. It was announced on a Nico Nico stream or something.

Also I'd be more than happy to take some codes if anyone's got extras...

I don't think I'm getting a code since I didn't specifically opt in for club nintendo emails. (I did for Nintendo, but I guess that doesn't count?)

Anyway, I'll trade a code for any of the games on Club Nintendo for a Smash code. PM me if interested.

I had this weird glitch for platinum status last year, half the coins I earned were counted towards this year instead of last ,despite having been on the account for a good five months before the end of the Club Nintendo year. So I only got gold, and am not eligible for a Smash code. So at the risk of sounding like a charity case, if anyone has a spare NA code, I'd very much appreciate it.

And then I will smash you as is customary amongst bros.

How do you check that? In my account details on Club Nintendo it says I'm opted in for Nintendo e-mails but I don't see any mention for specifically Club Nintendo. I did receive an e-mail a couple months back about the platinum rewards so I assume I'm enabled.

Some more codes for you duders, I have no use for the spares. I'm in the UK so I'd guess these would only work in EU regions.

I have no idea, lol. I vaguely remember when I registered for Club Nintendo I left the "Email me with bla bla" check box unchecked, but I might be wrong on that. I get emails from Nintendo quite often but never from Club Nintendo. (Unless I order something)
