Setting for Elder Scrolls 5?

So we all know there will be an Elder Scrolls 5, and my question is where do you think they will set the next incarnation? I'd be surprised if they did Cyrodiil again, and I don't think we are quite ready for a game that takes place in all of Tamriel.

My guess right now would be Summerset Isles. There are hints that major things are happening in the province, including the Psyjic Order becoming a big deal, Daedra worship and the such, and they could also do a Sload invasion story. I also say this out of wish because I love the Altmer, and maybe if they thought Summerset Isle was too small they could include quests on the seas, and maybe you get to visit Anvil and the coastlines of Hammerfell and Valenwood. That would be so badass.

I feel you know much more about the mythos of this series than I do, which leaves me with a rather impertinent opinion on the matter.

Let's just say I enjoyed Morrowind, loved Oblivion, and skipped past every tome of backstory I found.  It doesn't make me a bad person, I swear.  Just lazy.

(By the way, I was going to give you the "all of Tamriel" answer.  Just bring back the Silt Striders and I think everything would even out from there.  Haha.)

Yeah everyone is dead set on Summerset being the next location for elder scrolls, people said that was going to be the Oblivion expansion. Eh.

I didn't play the first two games, so I have no idea what they already covered, I know it involves Hammerfell, anyways.  I'm not too particular on where they go next as long as it's exotic. That's the thing I loved about Morrowind, it felt really alien. But even once you've settled in that world it could still feel very foreign, with the different factions and their wildly different architecture. As long as the next game captures that diversity, i'll be happy.

Fallout 3 might as well be Elder Scrolls 5.

Elder Scrolls is a fantasy based game in a fantasy world. It has no ties to this world (earth 21 century). So to make the game have guns or anything of the sort would completely ruin the original intent of the fantasy world created.

I've said Summerset Isles ever since I thought about an ES5.

Let's hope it's true. Then again, exploring the forests of Elsweyer would be interesting, from the lore I've read about that region. Perhaps a combination Khajiit/Argonian realms gameworld?

The new Elder Scrolls game will be in Africa, that's the new thing that everyone is doing now.

Hopefully the Mushroom Kingdom.

It would never happen but an awesome "Collecters Edition" bonus would be in addition to the new area they ported Morrowind (and maybe Oblivion) to the new game engine. Even without new textures, or the old quests/weapons/items just give me that world to walk around in as well as the new area.

Though as a side note, didnt Arena (the first game) cover all of tamriel? I think it did but im not sure since I havent managed to leave the first dungeon ever...........

By the time it comes out next gen will probably be hear so either a very very big region or a medium sized region but extremely detailed and lots of cities and dunguens.

I've sort of absorbed a great deal of the mythos into my head without knowing it, really.  I guess I can thank Morrowind and Oblivion for that.  And while it's all pretty cool, I wouldn't be too heartbroken if they decided to put that particular universe to bed.  When you break it down to the component parts it's really just another pseudo-medieval era story with magic.  We already have plenty of games like that.  Time for something new.

You know what I'd like to see?   A wild west era RPG.  You could rob trains, get into shootouts...pan for gold?

Just my two cents.

edit:  What if they made an entire RPG built strictly on the premise of panning for gold?  Best selling material right there.

If only its like daggerfall, 100000 locations ftw.

Akavir. Exotic. Chance for new content, like new races for example (aren´t akavirians some sort of oriental dragon like people?).
 
That or an MMO encompassing all of Tamriel. An instanced MMO kinda like Guild Wars would be acceptable. An MMO like WoW not. No. Uh-uh. 
 
Summerset Isles, Skyrim, or any other specific province only would just outright suck, even thought I´d play the hell out of it anyway.

Ever since I heard the merchant Khajitt outside of Whiterun talk about his homeland, I would love to see a game based in Elsweyr. But most likely it will be Summerset Isles and the Almeri Dominion/Thalmor will be the main focus of the story.

Considering Skyrim sales, it'll probably be like Skyrim with an even shittier UI.

I just hope it's somewhere further south than the setting for Skyrim. I thought the game was really well put together and enjoyed working through it but everything being set in such a cold, bleak place did bore me after a while.

There seem to be lots of new faces necroing old threads at the moment. Is this some weird internet thing that I don't know about?
