Just got an iPad, who else plays this?

I just got the new iPad, and my friend showed me this game. Looks pretty incredible and while the gameplay is basically just tedium I quite enjoy it. I need some friends on Origin to populate the social side of the game, so would anyone like to add me?

As clearly money grabbing as this game appears to be, a lot of effort and love of the simpsons has gone in to it. I love a lot of the subtle and obscure references in there.

Dunno about that 8th season is my favourite, Homer vs New York is the greatest episode of comedy ever.

@Bourbon_Warrior: Some minor upgrades. Better wifi receiver, uses the lightning connector and probably the biggest difference is the switch to the A6 chip, supposedly doubling game performance.

I think the iPad 3 came out 7 months ago and people are crying that their iPad is now a pile of crap but... come on. Minor upgrades. It's still an incredibly impressive piece of technology.

@AlisterCat: Im still happy with the iPad 2, better WiFi sounds nice but not worth hundreds of dollars. The thing that would make me get a new one is flash support. The only game I've played on iPad is Tiger Woods, got any recomendations, how much is that simpsons game.

Really wished EA would put out the new Sim City on iPad....

Even if I had an iPad 1 I probably wouldn't upgrade, since these devices are incredibly expensive. The 'retina' display is the best part of it, so I would have been satisfied with the iPad 3. As my first iPad though, I don't think I made a bad decision. Except, you know, buying one in the first place. £480... so $770.

Its seems since Jobs passed on Apple has changed alot, them ditching google was a step backwards

I'm happy with my 3, it isn't any slower now that the 4 is out. Don't know why some people are so annoyed about it.

I would have been worried if the 4 had 2GB of RAM though, because the lack of RAM is what made the first gen lag behind the iPad 2 and beyond. Since it has the same RAM as the iPad 2 and 3 I can expect it to last a long time before it starts to feel sluggish, even the first gen doesn't feel that laggy to use, it's only in certain apps.

I don't really play iPad games so the new A6 means a whole lot of nothing to me. I really have to stop buying games because I rarely stick to them more than 5 minutes...

@Sooty: Exactly, though Apple have been known to release updates that slow down older devices so that might not always be the case. Still, the 3 isn't even a year old.

To be honest even if they do that I can just downgrade I guess. I really only need my iPad to gimme access to web browsing, iKnow and some other misc apps that would run on a toaster anyway. I can't imagine web browsing improving much on the iPad as it stands now, it's already on par with desktop browsing for speed imo. (certainly very close to it!)

I'm a bit disappointed with the 4. I was really expecting a weight reduction or a redesign in some way, I guess that'll come with the New New, New iPad.

Nowadays upgrading yearly doesn't phase me, I'm planning to make my 2011 MacBook Air and 3rd gen iPad last a long time, I've always wanted to keep hold of a machine for a good few years, is it geeky that I envy people who have these older, but fully working 2008 era MacBooks?! Oh lordy. I think phones are more viable for being updated every few years, I'll probably keep my S3 until 2014, then I need to figure out if I can buy a phone that will let me use it in the UK for a while before heading to Japan, would rather just swap sims out than have to buy a new device specifically. Fuck knows what I'm going to do with my gaming PC.

I second that. Rayman is almost the perfect mobile platformer.

It's the only game I find myself playing these days on Android. Only requires like 10 min. of my day to collect the cash, assign the characters their 24 hr task, and occasionally build new structures. I suppose it's the minimal daily time investment and how it's become a part of daily routine that keeps me drawn to it.

It's unfortunate I didn't discover this thread when the snake event was still on. It ended with me possessing a massive stockpile of eggs that are now gone.

I just started playing recently, only level 14 so far. Username is atomicfox00.

This game is now officially not just the longest I've played a mobile game straight (every day since I downloaded it a couple months ago) but the most I've spent on a mobile game (I broke down and bought $20 in donuts so I could get Lincoln and Hank Scorpio in my town). I feel like a sucker but this is really meant for the fans of the Simpsons and I love it. Darn you EA for making me spend my money, but kudos for making a game that I decided to spend money on.
