Just to clarify: I guess that means you complete Castalletto, Nice, and Sisteron in order to unlock clubs. I should be there by thursday night!

The Giant Bomb Forza Horizon 2 Car Club
@earlessshrimp: it took me just over an hour or so of playing to get it unlocked. After you get to the second vs ___ race and drive back you'll get a notice from the game unlocking clubs, it makes a big deal out of it so you can't really miss it! Looking forward to see ya online!
@sgtsphynx: There is an option in the difficulty section that marks if there is damage and tire wear or if it is simply cosmetic, if you go with "simulation" you get a 10% bonus in credits gained from races.
@amikron: Hopefully it won't be full up by the time I get the chance to play again!
@isomeri: @xseanzx: I was having that problem yesterday some, seems like some of the services were up and down overnight and might still be. Just ended up driving around and a couple minutes later it worked fine.
Other weird thing is sometimes when I win a race it would wait awhile to tally up the rewards, almost like it was waiting for a server contact it wasn't getting. I'm guessing they are having some issues with all the fancy internet features.
I'm also getting the error while trying to join. Hopefully it is sorted later today. Really enjoying the game so far.

Just quoting this from the last page to make sure everyone sees it:

...we're just going to go with what Jeff made for now. It might run out of room, since it's freely open to join, but as of this posting invite-only car clubs are busted as far as I can tell. I have yet to find a single functional screen that allows for inviting by specifically picking names on a friends list or by gamertag, both of which you think would be standards features by now, but apparently not.
INSTEAD: Once you're done with the first road trip (three championships), you'll be given a chance to join a car club. Search for Giant Bomb. Jeff/GiantBombing's club will appear. Join in.
Thanks, and I'm terribly sorry about the confusion. This is what happens when I rush through the opening stages of a game in the latest night/earliest morning. Details were missed on my part.
I was finally able to join the club this evening. No more error. Looking forward to racing with you duders.
@edwardhyena: i just joined yesterday evening, so there was still room as of then.
I'll be in as well...I haven't gotten the ability to join car clubs yet, but I just got to Nice, so I will assume I'm pretty close? GT is Jack Burt0n.
Any way to clear out inactive players? I would love to join the club. This game is all I've been playing lately.
If anyone still wants to join a club, but the official club is still full, I've created the club GameBomb.ru
Come join comrades!
I've been booting inactives on direct request, but that's the only reasonable way to go about it thus far. Since the club is open, booting inactives, once I figure out how to determine who's the most inactive from the hundreds of people that haven't earned any XP in weeks, would create spots that would be filled up relatively quickly by people who may or may not be GB members. We're pretty high up in the club rankings, so it's tempting for randoms to want to jump into the club.
I'd like to be able to shut off open invites and manually invite the remainders, but unless it's been patched in, there's no easy way to send invites as a club leader that involves merely typing in a gamertag. The best way to join a club is for the player to search it out and join on their own, which comes with all the problems I've already mentioned.
For that reason, the best ways to get into the real club are to contact me on Twitter (PsEG) and be ready to join immediately when I respond saying I've booted someone, or simply watch the roster every time you launch the game to see if a spot's opened up from a random quitting. On a side note, my current definition of inactive is people who sucked at the first two showcases and are under level 30, especially if I caught them adding no XP to the club 2-3 weeks after the game came out. If any of that sounds like it might be you and you're in the club...consider stepping up.
Especially the train showcase. Watch my ghost or Sushi's ghost. There's a relatively easy route to get a great time there.
