Was just sitting here enjoying a bit of Forza Motorsport 3 - when i started wondering about how strange it is that i do like this game.... 
 

• I don't own a car.
• Never took a drivers license (i'm 28).
• Know  absolutely nothing about what happens under the hood of a car.
• Have zero interest in cars IRL.

• Still have all assists on
• Play on easy
• Best result so far is in a Vauxhall.....

I don't find anything really embarrasing about what you listed.  Maybe the whole thing that you love this game and cars but don't have a license.  Thats not embarrasing just weird.  : P        You just gotta keep at the game to get better.  Remove the assists one @ a time and try to figure it out.  The Vauxhall is a good car for  beginners and even my friend who doesn't like racing sims at all found that car to be extremely easy to drive and have podiums with.  Just keep practicing and you'll get better.  I am by no means a pro...more like an amateur...the payoff for not using the assists is worth it.  Good luck.

I LOVE racing sims, but haven't played Forza 3 yet.
 
That's pretty pathetic in my book.
 
Anyways from what I've seen in past Gran Turismo games, I can never make the jump to proper racing cars (Touring cars and the like). They are just too fast for me.

I could car less about cars, but I love me some Forza Motorsport 3.

I play Burnout instead. I love a good car game but I'm pretty afraid of getting too deep in customization. If I start getting addicted to specing out cars, I'm totally lost forever
