Man, they really are the complete opposites of PD aren't they? HEY KAOS. You better watch out!
Discuss, I guess. Where's the wiki page!?

Forza Motorsport 4 Announced
It was just "annouced" and nothing was said, I don't think we need a wiki page as soon as fucking possible.
Looking forward to this, naturally. Here's hoping there's some major additions to Forza 4, like weather on all tracks, day-to-night cycle on all tracks, open-wheel cars, or more than eight in multiplayer. Hoping for one or more of those, but more of Forza 3 with more tracks and more options would be enough to ensure a purchase for me.
Race Night will never die!
" @Baillie said:When they're as good as the Forza series, then what's the problem?" Man, they really are the complete opposites of PD aren't they?"I'm not sure that we should be applauding a company's ability to churn out sequels. I can't really tell if that's what you're doing, though. "
I'm pumped! (still need that last achievement on 3, though...)
Just because casuals can't keep it, doesn't make it any less. Sure gamers hate it, but people who drive cars love it. GT5 has always been about the hardcore driving simulation.
Let me know when F1 drivers go on record on saying how good Forza is.
" When they're as good as the Forza series, then what's the problem? My thoughts exactly on the former. The jumps Forza has made, especially the physics between 2 and 3, have made the game leaps and bounds better each time for me.
I'm pumped! (still need that last achievement on 3, though...) "
Coincidentally, I was working on Solid Gold in Forza 3 instead of watching the VGAs, since I didn't expect this announcement. Over a year later, and I'm still only 73.9% done with career mode. I think I need to set a goal for S-ranking Forza 2 and 3 before 4 comes out, just so I don't leave too many unfinished racing sims in my wake.
@Baillie: There's something to be said for timeliness, but some of the most highly regarded developers are the most notoriously perfectionist ones (e.g. Blizzard, Valve).
Again, let me know when F1 drivers admit to enjoying a Forza game. Surely Microsoft's big money can do it, right?
" @CptBedlam: ...but people who drive and race love GT5. Just people you don't, doesn't mean the driving community hates it. Professional drivers have stated GT5 is the best driving sim out there, and when the world's top driver Sebastian Vettel goes on record with it, it doesn't matter at the end. "Yeah, it's just too bad that as a whole product it was lazy, sloppy, and desperately trying to capture the very audience you are talking about.
There is also the fact that GT5 is a lot newer than Forza 3, so I'll wait till Forza 4 comes out to see if they manage to meet the pavement track simulation of GT5.
" @CptBedlam: ...yeah, cause Vettel admits he enjoys GT games more than the official F1 games. It has nothing to do with marketing, even before GT5, F1 drivers have said they prefer GT during their free time. Again, let me know when F1 drivers admit to enjoying a Forza game. Surely Microsoft's big money can do it, right? "Man, you really are a bigger tool than I thought.
Those guys "play" the games they get paid for playing. Vettel even has his own event in GT5. You are just one big consumerism sheep.

It is so self-defeating it's embarrassing...
So the brand "Gran Turismo" is well known ... what a shocker!!" @CptBedlam: ...whatever bro. Everyone said GT5 wouldn't sell and there was no community for it, and it ended up outselling the top selling Forza game in the first 12 days while also becoming the top selling PS3 exclusive, despite having the worst launch in gaming history and middle ground reviews. You can say whatever you want, I'll be enjoying GT5 with my G27 racing wheel and 7.1 audio. "
GT5 could've been a 50%-product and it would've sold the same numbers.
"Gran Turismo" exists about 10 years longer than "Forza". Of course, it has has a larger fanbase.
" @JJWeatherman: Sure, but after awhile the updates become too frequent and incremental to really get anyone excited about the game. Even if it is good. "I don't know about you, but a Forza game every 2 years is absolutely peeeerfect. Perfect amount of time.
I don't care to get too involved in this silly argument that has nothing to do with Forza 4, but I don't think anyone reasonable said GT5 wasn't going to sell. Hell, even I figured it would wildly outsell Forza on name recognition alone. If anything, people were questioning whether it would be good or not, and considering the response post-release, I don't think that argument has been perfectly settled." Everyone said GT5 wouldn't sell... "

Personally, I'm wondering just how much they'll get Top Gear involved in Forza 4, since they gained Top Gear's support pretty late into Forza 3's life cycle. I assume most people will want that test track, but personally, I'm hoping they find a way to include that road in Eastern Europe that was called the best driving road ever. Long tracks is something Forza's really good with, especially in multiplayer, and I'd love to see them take advantage of that." Also, there a Top Gear logo at the end of the trailer. "
Again, are you all just morons with thumbs up your asses? Or do you really believe that you can only like one or the other? I don't understand this shit.
Remember that one time you had to unlock damage in Gran Turismo?
I'll bet that's not a feature in Forza.
" @EvilTwin said:Eh, I think 2 years is about the time it takes to release a polished big budget sequel these days. Just enough time to make some improvements and add a few new features, but not really enough time for innovation. Anyways, I have no problem with the Forza series whatsoever, and I'm not trying to accuse Turn 10/MGS of milking Forza or anything. I was just trying to counter the idea (which I hear frequently) that Turn 10 being able to release X number of games in the time it takes Polyphony to make one is some sort of black eye for Polyphony. The only problem I had with GT5's release is that it was announced and pushed back so many times. Otherwise, I very much like developers to have the ability to take as much time as they want to make a game." @JJWeatherman: Sure, but after awhile the updates become too frequent and incremental to really get anyone excited about the game. " @CptBedlam: and when the world's top driver Sebastian Vettel goes on record with it, it doesn't matter at the end.A big stack of cash always helps.
" Again, are you all just morons with thumbs up your asses? Or do you really believe that you can only like one or the other? I don't understand this shit. "It's what happens when you get highly devoted fans of one series going up against another group of fans of another series. I think there's a term for that, but I'm going to pretend it's slipping my mind.
Seriously, though, I'm with you. I wouldn't mind playing GT5 alongside Forza 3 at the moment, but the cost for me to properly enjoy GT5 is a bit prohibitive, lacking a PS3 and all. I just want both games to feed off the additions and improvements of one another for better sim racing games overall.
I would like some more Forza. I have GT5 from gamefly, and i just can't get into it like I did Forza 2, and more so, Forza 3.
I hope they keep with the ability to pick cars I like, and be able to race them in whatever events are available, like in Forza 3. I am not sure why the Forza games worked so well for me, but, I would probably buy Forza 4 sometime in the first week of its release.
" GT5 Sucks!!! Just kidding couldn't help my self after seeing the fanboy war going down in here. Anyway going back on topic I have been trying Forza 3 for awhile now and starting to get the hang of it and love how it gives non-hardcore racing game fans away into the genre (always wanted to try and get into the genre and never could really get the hand of other games). So I a optimistic for this game and I hope they add cool features to it. Also why is it always when two games are in the same genre that if you like one game you have to consider te other one crap?
