Concept »
A person serving time in prison or an escaped criminal on the run from the law.
Generally used to fool other characters or parties into thinking you're one of them or belong there for purposes of deception, spying, or accessing data.
When the main character at some point has to escape from a confined area, be it a dungeon, a prison cell, or a penal colony.
When one character pretends (or poses, hence the name) to be another character. This is usually done to make the character who is being posed be the scapegoat for crimes.
A red herring is a plot device used to mislead or distract someone from what's really going on in the story. It could be a false clue or over-emphasis of another character. Red herrings can add a surprise or make a challenge tougher.
When a protagonist/hero works for the bad guy. It may be unintentional or completely voluntary.
