I was on such a good roll, blasting fools with two ion cannons on the engi ship, almost upgraded everything, had full awesome crew.

Load up the game, when I remembered I wanted to check something in the main menu, stats or whatever.

Quit to main menu, ignored the fucking warning.

I'm such an idiot. Lost my amazing save.

Fuck. I'm pretty bummed now.

I guarantee you would have died anyway, as the 2 ion cannons are not nearly enough to shut down the mother ship's weapons, and with them you don't have nearly enough damage to burst them down. Just pretend your ship and crew were lost to a wormhole and play again.

Except they were mark II, I also had the thing that fires two missiles, a bunch of drones, three cool augmentations and was in sector 7. I also through stalemate battles got my crew to maximum in all four systems.

Maybe you're right, but it took a while, and I'm pretty sure I'll never play this game again.
