To those who are excited for this...are you basing your expectations off the Ueda's past work? Or did the trailers released a year or so back really draw your interest to this? I can't tell without asking directly, but if it's the latter...well, I feel like I'm missing something. Was there ever actual gameplay shown of it, or a description of how it would play? The trailers I saw didn't seem very informative in that sense.
I hope for everyone who own's a PS3 that this game is still in development. I hate to admit that I have never been sold on the game from the sparse trailers I've seen so far. I played about half of SotC, and watched my college room mate play all of it. I think I enjoyed watching him play and complete the game more than I really liked playing it. It was an amazing game, don't get me wrong, I just don't feel any real excitement towards Last Guardian because I don't really know what that game is.
I think this game is one of the better examples of why I've stopped getting overly excited for Japanese games. Maybe its just a difference in their PR cylces, which can span 5 or more years, but I stopped getting my hopes up about three years ago when FF XII Versus was nowhere to be seen. I hope I'm not the only one who feels this way, as I was huge into Japanese titles growing up, all the way until the end of the PS2 era. Since then, I've been drawn much more to Xbox and PC titles. Just my thoughts, wonder if anyone else has shared this sort of trajectory.
