In the Star Wars Universe, the Clone Wars, conflicts between the Galactic Republic's Clone Army and the Confederacy of Independent Systems' Droid Army, were the backbone of all events to come. Unknown to most at the time, Darth Sidious controlled both sides and used the conflict to gain power in the Galactic Senate, eventually using the Clones to form his army of Stormtroopers.
Droid soldiers of the Empire, with the larger and more advanced models able to double as exo-suits for human pilots.
An elite, black-armored Stormtrooper variant deployed in small squads, frequently acting as bodyguards for important figures like Orson Krennic.
An alien race originating from the Star Wars universe.
The crimson-clad, highly trained elite who protect Emperor Palpatine and, occasionally, other important Imperial figures.
A theme used very often in fantasy and sci-fi settings is that of a brutal, totalitarian empire or kingdom whose armies oppress the common people. Evil Empires appear under many names in various game worlds, including simply "The Empire".
The Galactic Empire was the galactic government established by Supreme Chancellor Palpatine in the Star Wars Universe.
Special or stronger units than standard ones, usually found in strategy games. This is not necessarily the same thing as a superhero or a game's protagonist.
The men and some women tasked with commanding and ordering the Empire's many footsoldiers and other resources. Most are incompetent, corrupt, cruel, or some combination thereof.
Force-sensitive Imperials who impede Starkiller's progress. Their own command of the Force makes them resistant to many Force attacks.
A Stormtrooper variant outfitted with flamethrowers, identifiable by red markings and pauldron.
The Jedi consists of individuals capable of using the Force. They are the protectors of peace and stability in the galaxy.
Stormtrooper variant outfitted with jetpacks or jump-packs
Also known as "Nova-Class Stormtroopers", they generally serve a ceremonial role within the Empire's legions.
One of several kinds of elite Imperial soldiers, usually tasked with hunting down Jedi who survived Order 66
The Alliance to Restore the Republic is a rag-tag band of freedom fighters that opposes the Galactic Empire during the Galactic Civil War.
Two or more factions, either with the same or completely different goals, that constantly try to one-up each other. The player is sometimes forced to pick a side to root or work for during the struggle. Other times the rivalry is only mentioned in the plot.
An alien race in Star Wars. Many take up a profession in bounty hunting.
A group of highly esteemed fighter pilots for the Rebel Alliance.
A type of Imperial soldier armed with dual lightsabers. Their armor bears some resemblance to Palpatine's Royal Guards and Shadow Guards.
Stormtroopers who see action in arid environments like Tatooine. Often shown with an orange shoulder pauldron.
A branch of the Stormtrooper Corps, they are usually depicted as either riding speeder bikes or acting as snipers for the Empire. Also known as "Biker Scouts".
The standard Stormtrooper but in black, they are often used for stealth and sabotage based missions, as their armor often has cloaking technology.
Also known as "Coastal Defender Stormtroopers", they can be found in tropical and coastal environments like Scariff.
Serving as polar opposites to the Jedi, they revel in dark side of the Force and lust power above all else. Sith Lords are identified by their "Darth" title, while lesser Sith and Dark Jedi are not allocated this title.
Soldiers trained by the Galactic Empire for deployment in cold climates.
Typically representing the elite of humanity's Space Forces, Space Marines have appeared in numerous games such as the Doom series and Warhammer series.
An elite, highly-trained Stormtrooper variant tasked with carrying out special operations against the Rebellion and other enemies of the Empire
Iconic blaster fodder which appear in any good Star Wars game, having origins with the Republic's Clone troopers. Come in a wide number of different variants.
The officers and leaders of the Stormtrooper Corps, intended as a spiritual successor to the ARC Troopers of the Clone Wars.
