I was seriously looking forward to this game after I saw the live Quick Look EX. Does anyone know what happened to it? I searched around a bit but all I could find was a lot of TBD and a vague reference to end of 2014 on their website. Wasn't it slated for late summer or something?
Would be a real bummer if this got pushed into 2015.
Galak-Z
Game » consists of 3 releases. Released Aug 04, 2015
Galak-Z is a sci-fi roguelike space shooter inspired by anime of the 1970s and '80s.
Where is this little guy?
I know the feeling, times have changed and my xbox is all unplugged and I am not looking to redo it for this unless the game can rekindle the itch I had for it when I saw it.
I thought this was only for the PS4 and Vita?
Yep. PS4, Vita, and PC. No Xbox as of now.
I feel like a saw a bit of coverage on this from PAX Prime, but only when I went hunting for it. I have been anxiously awaiting this since the Quick Look EX as well. This and No Man's Sky are at the top of my wish list of games to play. Oh, Hotline Miami 2 also, of course.
Edit: HereHere is GameSpot's coverage of it at PaxPax.

It was playable at PAX Prime but only 2-3 setups in a fairly small area. I played it 5-6 times and enjoyed it thoroughly. I really want to be able to buy it.

Thanks for a heads up. Glad it's alive. Anything different about it you noticed vs when we saw the last coverage of the game, or?
It came up on the 8-4 Play podcast that the entire dev team is migrating their office to Japan. Or vice versa? Anyway, the 8-4 people jokingly implied that it's one of the reasons the game is delayed, but I think there is a lot of truth to that. It sounds like it took up a solid month or two of their time (similar to how Vinny setting up the new studio in NYC is taking fucking forever for reasons not necessarily in his control).
Oh man didn't know these devs took so long on their games. It kind of makes me even more interested as I really liked what I saw in the quick look but I'm kind of afraid I'll forget about the game when it comes out. Good to have an update though.
Austin mentioned on Beastcast that he heard a summer release may go down, obviously this aint anywhere near official news, but good news nonetheless! this thing is still on its way
I really really want to play this game, but does anyone happen to know what the system reqs for pc are? I have a sorta lowend laptop so I'm curious, I cant find anything by just googling it. I know the pc version comes out later than ps4/xbone version (i think) so they might not be out yet.
I've only watched a little coverage of this game and I'm genuinely curious. This just looks like bullet hell - is that the appeal? What is it that's got people excited? Sell me on it.

My understanding is that it's a sort of open-world top-down 360 degree space shooter with procedural environments filled with various warring factions, all wrapped within a sick 70s anime sci-fi aesthetic.
@theht: Ah. Top down shooters aren't my thing, but glad people are excited about this. Hope it turns out well for fans of that stuff.
@sparky_buzzsaw: And they kept talking about "Halo AI," sort of a space shooter combat sandbox. Which seems interesting?
@majortoms: From the QL I would assume 1-2 months. The steam release is supposed to be when the last chapter is added and I can't imagine the entire last chapter of the game being held back that long.
I bet this was one of those exclusivity deals.
