What was the first game you owned for your old school Game Boy?  For me it was Toy Story.  I got the game and thought it was to hard.  Went to Walmart the next day and exchanged it for Super Mario Land 2.  So, what was your first Game Boy game?

For my first real, non-pack-in game, Super Mario Land. So really, not much of a difference.

I don't remember the first game I owned but I kind of remember the first games I played on my uncles Game Boy. They were Terminator 2 and a Final Fantasy game.   
 
One of the first games I got after I got my game boy was Pokemon Red.

Well my first game was Tetris as it came with the gameboy. The first game I bought was probably Mario Land.

Tetris and battletoads, and battletoads was a fucking hard game, holy shit I used to get so pissed off as a kid at it.

Kirby's Dream Land, then Pokemon Blue. 

I got mine when Pokemon came out.

I actually didn't have the original game boy either (although I eventually got one for some reason) but I had the Game Boy Pocket. Why the hell is there no GB Pocket page here on giantbomb?

Maybe Pokemon.

I don't know about you guys. But my pockets can actually fit an original GameBoy. (I know this not because I still have one, which I don't, but because side pockets in three pairs of pants that I own can fit my Oxford Dictionary of Philosophy).
 
Not gonna pretend it was small as the GameBoy Pocket itself, but it's not as mammoth as people remember.

 I got a Game Boy Pocket on my 10th birthday from my grandmother, but i didn't get any games since she thought  it was built in. So i had to wait until christmas to get my first two games ;

Bundled with Tetris. I hate Tetris. But I soon got to play Super Mario Land and Wario Land and Probotector and Final Fantasy Mystic Quest (basically the first Mana, Seiken Densetsu, so nothing like the SNES Mystic Quest) and Mortal Kombat II and other awesome games courtesy of my cousin who had his Game Boy long before me. I never got to play the likes of Pokemon for some reason, it's been so long I don't remember why. Perhaps it broke or got lost during a move. My first experiences I actually do remember vividly came much later, with the SEGA Saturn <3

I still have my original Gameboy and yes, it still works.  My first game after Tetris would have been either The Amazing Spiderman (awesome) or Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (still awesome).

Played that game to death! Wouldnt even want to have a guess on how mant times i completed it :)

the first game system that i ever had (if you consider the game boy a system) was the green game boy pocket and donkey kong country...

Kirby. I think it was Dreamland or something? Anyway I got it at Best Buy, it came in a big plastic case with the Game Boy itself, some batteries, and the Kirby game. I remember going home and pulling off my socks and then starting to play.
