Gameroom needs help badly. I love the idea but it has really been a huge let down. Really, I am just going to end up repeating things said during Quick Looks.
I really hope they find a way to turn this thing around and fast, it has so much potential. But it is stunts like this that really shows how little effort they are putting into the thing at this point. Two games? Pathetic.
The games need to be reduced in price too. Yeah, pipe dream, I know. But the caliber of what they have been releasing up to this point with the exception of a few really classic titles is not worth the asking price. 80 points should be the standard, with prices going up to the 240/320 range tops. They also need to pull in Capcom, SNK, Namco and others.
Game Room had a lot of potential. In a lot of ways, it's similar to Nintendo's Virtual Console, but with the addition of online leaderboards, the medal system and all of the other fancy bells and whistles that make it such an intriguing service.
So why the hell couldn't Microsoft sign more companies to provide games for the service?
They tried for a while, up until Game Pack 004. But yeah it's clear Game Room is obviously trying to recreate the video game crash of '83. Heck most of the Game Room games are from that era.
