What are your top 10 favorite GameCube games?
I just waxing godamn nostalgic (I'll give a cookie to whomever gets the refrence), and I thought about Nintendo's last gen gaming console that looked like a lunchbox. It isn't my favorite Nintendo console, but it was still very good and it had a lot of good games for it. I was wondering, what are your top 10 favorite GameCube games?
My list:

Know that you don't have to make a top 10 list, it can be less then 10 and it doesn't have to be in order.

Metroid Prime 2
Paper Mario

I really feel like I should just say Wind Waker and drop the mike, because I've spent more time playing, exploring, and replaying that game than just about every other GCN game combined; but I also enjoyed RE4, Viewtiful Joe, Killer 7, Sunshine, and the first Metroid Prime.
Everything else I just watched my girlfriend play (Prime 2, Pikmin 1/2, Paper Mario)
"This + Wind waker somewhere in that mix of awesomeness!"

Super Smash Bros. Melee
Animal Crossing
Resident Evil Remake
Resident Evil 4
Pikmin
Luigi's Mansion
Viewtiful Joe
No order
Rogue Leader
Super Mario Sunshine
Smash Bros Melee
Pikmin
Can't really think of any. It's been a long-ass time.
Never had one. Never saw any games on it that made it worth buying. I think I remember wanting to try Pikmin at one point, so I guess that.
Too many great games! Definitely the greatest console in terms of games, so much so I couldn't limit it to 10, so I'm doing my top 11 instead. In no specific order:
1.Phantasy Star Online
2.Super Smash Bros. Melee
3.Wind Waker
4. Soul Calibur 2
5. Super Mario Sunshine
6. Pikmin
7. Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles
8. Warioware Mega Party Games
9. Skies of Arcadia
10.XIII
11. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
This isn't really a definitive list because that would take much too much thinking to compile, but these are more or less my top 10.

" Never had one. Never saw any games on it that made it worth buying. I think I remember wanting to try Pikmin at one point, so I guess that. "Dude.
I was about to ask this since I wanna get more use out of my Wii and Gamefly account, thanks!
Definite Top not in order: Windwaker, Luigi's Mansion, Resident Evil 4, Super Mario Sunshine (I don't know why they hatin'), Viewtiful Joe, Smash Bros Melee, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, and I can't remember any others right now.
Best of the Gamecube
1. Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader The BEST Gamecube launch title. Its a shame that Factor 5 is closed. Maybe another developer will do this game justice in a future iteration.
2. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes An already great game with the improvements of its successor.
3. Metroid Prime Retro Studios did a wonderful job translating the classic 2D Metroid gameplay into the modern age.
4. Resident Evil 4 Ditching the pre-rendered backgrounds, tank controls and the crappy camera angles of its predecessors RE4 is a new beginning for the modern more action oriented Resident Evil series we have now.
5. The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker This would be #2 if it didn't have the stupid fetch quest at the end. |
" @greenygrey said:Kirby Air Ride was a piece of shit.... That I played everyday for like 3 months." I just waxing godamn nostalgic"I'm* , and Vido says hi. Also, in no particular order are: Luigi's Mansion The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker Super Smash Bros. Melee Kirby Air Ride Soul Calibur 2 F-Zero GX Mario Kart Double-Dash and 007: Nightfire "
In no particular order, some of my absolute favorite gamecube games have been
Super Smash Brothers Melee
Mario Kart Double Dash
SSX Tricky (and ssx 3)
Luigi's Mansion
Mario Party (any of them will do, not sure which is my favorite as it's been many years since i've played
Mario Golf Toadstool Tour (underrated)
Lord of the rings the two towers (Seriously play this game)
Lord of the rings the Return of the King
NBA Street Volume 2&3
Spongebob Battle For Bikini Bottom
MVP Baseball 2004
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle
Turok Evolution
NFL Street
I don't even need to own a GameCube to say that everyone that mentions Resident Evil 4 and/or Killer7 is 100% correct.
A little weird that this just became a necro-thread, but whatever. Also call me a scrub, but I never got to play RE4. Here's my list in no particular order.
- Super Smash Bros Melee
- Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II
- Mario Power Tennis
- Soul Calibur II
- F-Zero GX
- Mario Kart Double Dash
- Paper Mario: TTYD (Never finished it, but should have)
- The Simpsons: Hit and Run (A better GTA clone than you might think)
- Super Mario Sunshine
- Pac Man World 2 (Also a better platformer than it has any right of being)
- Honorable Mention: Metroid Prime: I never went far into the game, but if I ever have the time to play it again, I should beat it. Plus I got farther in TTYD than I did Prime.
Only rule, one game per frachice. Otherwise this list would be Zelda/RE heavy
1. Resident Evil 4
2. Tales of Symphonia
3. The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker
4. Killer 7
5. Viewtiful Joe
6. Super Smash Bros. Melee
7. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
8. Bloody Roar: Primal Fury
9. Soul Calibur 2
10. Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
Others:
Naruto: Gekitō Ninja Taisen! 4 (Look it up, it's legit AF!)
Mario Kart: Double Dash
Sonic Riders (not amazing, but it's a lot of fun, & I had a great time with it)
Metroid Prime 1 & 2 (Both great, but I've got other favorites)
Zelda Collection (best $30 spent when I was 14)
Resident Evil
Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2 (Too many hours at my friends house to count)
Oh man, I haven't even thought about Gamecube in forever (I lent it to one of my old friends in high school and haven't seen him or my Gamecube since. Bastard.) That said, I'm not sure if I'll be able to come up with ten but here goes:
- Viewtiful Joe
- Mario Kart: Double Dash (if you won't admit this is the best MK, you're wrong. And no, Super was my first)
- Windwaker
- F-Zero GX
- Smash Bros
- Animal Crossing
- Warioware
