Overview
New Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja is a side-scrolling platformer developed by Mr. Nutz Studio and digitally published by Microïds (Company) for the PlayStation 5 (Platform), PlayStation 4 (Platform), and Nintendo Switch (Platform) on November 24, 2022, with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One (Platform), and PC (Platform) versions planned for a December 1, 2022 release. It is a high-definition remake of the 1991 arcade game Caveman Ninja (also known as Joe & Mac), re-drawn in a new hand-drawn cartoon style similar to the studio's earlier remake of the arcade game Toki. Along with the standard Arcade Mode, it features an extended story mode. The game also received a limited-edition retail release (known as the T-Rex Edition) with bonus physical material.
History
Golgoth Studio (Company) announced a remake of Joe andamp;amp;amp; Mac: Caveman Ninja to follow their Toki (Game) remake, but neither project materialized from the company. Three years after Toki was finally finished and released in 2018 by Microïds (Company), they announced an intent to finish Joe & Mac. Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja was originally intended to release on Xbox 360 Games Store (Platform), Wii Shop (Platform), and PlayStation Network (PS3).
