Lineker first lent his name to a series of three 8-bit Gremlin produced soccer games starting with Gary Lineker's Superstar Soccer in 1987, followed by Gary Lineker's Superskills in 1988, and finally Gary Lineker's Hot Shot in 1989.
In 1998, Lineker voiced the menu screens in World Cup '98 with fellow pundit Des Lynam.
Then, alongside fellow Match of the Day pundit Alan Hansen, Lineker provided voice work for Codemasters' LMA Manager series. The pair would generally give post-match analysis over the highlights of each game but also voiced team news and cup draws in later editions.
In 2004, Lineker voiced the team selection and the pre- and post-match menus for Codemasters' England International Football.
