Thought this was of interest, apparently Developer Gearbox Software are promising reveals at PAX East according to the schedule and GameInformer. Unsurprisingly the speculation is already pointing towards a Borderlands 3 announcement but who the heck really knows. As a massive fan of Borderlands 2, I hope so. Though considering how long it's been since the second game, I'm worried that maybe development hasn't exactly been smooth. But exciting nonetheless.

It would be very strange to announce Borderlands 3 at PAX. Even if the panel is streamed that's not what I would label as an ideal marketing moment. E3, or even the weeks prior, would be a much better timing to such an announcement. Borderlands is just too big of a franchise to relegate to PAX imo.

In all seriousness: It is Borderlands 3. Gearbox needs cash and the market isn't going to get any less oversaturated with shlooters. Get it in the public eye before the next four come out and put out an early access game this Fall.

I agree with @finaldasa. I think this would be an odd venue for a Borderlands reveal - at least in terms of the series proper. I wouldn't put it past them to release some F2P thing on phones similar to the Diablo project.

Oh man, PLEASE be the BL3 announcement!! I've been a fan of the series since the first game came out, and I'm definitely ready for more!

They've already pretty much confirmed that Borderlands 3 is the game they've been working (showing tech demos and stuff at developer events). Hopefully it's time, been crossing my fingers for it the last few E3s already.

I wouldn't put it pass them to rebrand a lot of Battleborn/Borderlands characters into a F2P Battle Royale game to get into that Apex bandwagon...

And, of course, they will announce that Borderlands 3 is "still a thing... we are working on it... soon, we promise". With any luck, we are going to get a mini-teaser with the B3 logo in it.
