The highest I've gotten on Horde is 37. Is this taking everyone a long time to get or is it just me? It's by far my favorite multiplayer mode in Gears, but reaching 50 seems impossible at this point.

My GF recently managed to get to wave 39. Took a looong time.

My Grandma managed to get to wave 50. Took a long time.

Are you by yourself? It was fairly easy for me with 3 guys on Day One. All I had to do was plant a shield at the top of the stairs and defend the area.

What level do you usually play on?But ya it's hard by yourself,even on Easy or Normal.I beat it on Hardcore with 4 of us on the map with the Corpser hole in the middle.Just have 2 guys on either balcony and plant shields at the stairs.

The highest I've ever gotten without failing is 19.  I can never convince my friends to help me finish and I don't plan on doing it alone.

It's boring on your own, takes for ever. 

I had an amazing game with 3 other randoms last night on River, we got as far as wave 40, but fuck me, it was crack while it lasted. And no-one quit.

The furthest I made it on my own without dying was 35.  My friend and I made it through all fifty waves on Normal (there was much dying, however). 

Like someone said, the trick is having three or more players, find a nice place to hole up, then plant Mauler shields and let unfold the carnage. 

First day it came out  on XBL friends and I finished wave 50, haven't really played it since.

The furthest I got with 1 friend was 25. We could probably get more if we had some more time.

I got it pretty early as well on casual.  5 doods and on Security behind the lasers we squaded up to do it, and I was very fortunate to be the last standing and killing the last grub.......I cursed loudly in triumph after being taunted to fail repeatedly by a squadmate who had fallen, lol.  Haven't beaten it on normal though, or hardcore for heaven's sake, and insane well just....lol.  Best to  have 5  players working together, no glory hounds, and get a map w/the tactical advantage.  Day One on ramp above with planted shields, Security behind the laser beams, and River inside the building with the stairs might work also.  At least they're easier imo.

Can easily do it by playing River, going into the buildings where the sniper and torque bow spawn and wait for the shield weilding boomer, kill him and plant the shield on the walkway up to the sniper, the enemy cant get in, but watch out for Sires cause they can and will kick them down!
