    Gears of War is a tactical cover-based sci-fi shooter from Epic Games. The player controls Marcus Fenix, a COG soldier who fights the Locust aliens defending their home planet from the encroaching Human invaders.

    sold for 15 bucks. Wasn't fucking worth it. Thinking of buying it again. Not so bad since i got it for free originally, but i'm still gonna feel ripped off DX

    Shame on you.

    Selling Gears 2 is understandable, actually it is recommended; but the original is beast.

    I suggest you go hunt down a copy pronto.

    Do people not like Gears 2 or something? I only play 360 at my brother's house but I thought it was pretty good from what I had a go with. I see a lot of hate for it (unless there is an Uncharted vs. Gears fanboy war going on) - similarr reception as GTA. I mean the game has an awesome Metacritic?

    Most people hate Gears 2 because the multiplayer was (and still is) full of annoying bugs and lag.

    So was the original, and still probably is. Then again, I know there were a lot more problems in Gears 2, and at this point, you expect they would have fixed them before even the game was released.

    Gears 2 Have Far less Bugs and the lag isn't so bad. For me its less laggy than The Gears 1.

    How strange. I thought people revered Gears Of War 2 as one of the key reasons for owning an XBOX 360.

    no gears 1. Oh i had so much fun playing through the campaign on insane with my friend. I'd do it again any day. The mp maps were so much better the the original maps in 2. Why do you think 7 maps were added as DLC from the original? Also the campaign had a darker theme which i loved, and no freaking smoke grenades :*( sniff sniff

    I didn't have a choice in Gears 1 being removed from my possesion. The disc broke in my xbox, breaking both my heart and my Xbox's disc drive.

    Consider this thread a complete eye opener on my part. I rarely venture into 360 threads (for obvious reasons) - I had no idea people felt like this about Gears.

    I loved the single player of the first Gears of War. Awesome game.

    The last boss sucked though. I could only defeat him with the use of a glitch.

    I did the same thing cause I figured Gears 2 would just be the same but better. In ways it is but now I also wish I had the classic to pop in every now and then.

    Not true, most of the problems have been fixed. Only time I run into lag is when someone is using a lag switch and I run into a bug (some not even major) about once every 100 rounds or so.

    You know what? Since i have tomorrow off, I will play a few matches of gears 2 multiplayer and see how it goes. I haven't played it it properly since they added the levels, I did not have a good experience so i just called it quits and moved onto halo 3.

    Gears wasn't really that good.  It caught the luck of timing imo.
    Gears 2 isn't nearly as celebrated.
