With the Mini NES being a reasonably nostalgic hit, it seems Sega is kinda interested in sharing that nostalgic feel to the world, albeit in a low-key indirect way.
Some company in Brazil has decided to produce their own batch of old-school Sonic fun by making an exact replica of the Sega Genesis (Mega Drive actually, since it's the European model), and Sega has blessed them with approval and official badge branding. While it does take (European) cartridges, this is the twenty-first century, so it has a slot to accept SD cards for emulation games. And with that, the console already comes with an SD card packed with the following games:
- ALEX KIDD
- ALIEN STORM
- ALTERED BEAST
- ARROW FLASH
- BONANZA BROTHERS
- COLUMNS
- DECAP ATTACK
- E-SWAT
- FATAL LABYRINTH
- FLICKY
- GAIN GROUND
- GOLDEN AXE
- GOLDEN AXE 3
- JEWEL MASTER
- KID CHAMELEON
- LAST BATTLE
- OUT RUNNERS
- SEGA SOCCER
- SHADOW DANCER
- SHINOBI 3
- SONIC 3
- TURBO OUTRUN
It's a pretty specific list, right? I think this is cool, but a little weird. Is Sega trying to test the waters quietly to see if people still do feel the Genesis love, or are they just doing whatever they want with their properties?
