My friend is trying to collect the worst games for each system, and we're sort of stymied by the Genesis. It helps that most "Worst Genesis Games" lists appear to be written by folks who have no concept of the progression of design and technology, or are just games they didn't like on a personal level. I wouldn't put Jurassic Park and Altered Beast on that list, not compared to games like Atari 2600 ET and N64 Daikatana and Superman.

After the cult success of their 8-bit Master System, Sega decided to give gamers a taste of their arcade capabilities with a 16-bit console. Known worldwide as the Mega Drive but called Genesis in the US, it provided graphics and sound a couple of steps below their popular System 16 arcade cabinets. The Mega Drive/Genesis turned out to be Sega's most successful console.
What are the worst Genesis games?
Bart vs the space mutants is a pretty bad game graphically and mechanically. Though that might be due to the fact that I think it was also a NES game?
Beavis and Butthead looks good, but the gameplay is terrible.
I only owned one Genesis game, Altered Beast, but rented many. Last Battle was the worst one I rented. It's a bad 8-bit game in 16-bit clothing. Has no ironic value either like Pit Fighter or Shaq Fu. There was another game that was equally bad where you're a robot punching other robots, but I can't remember the name.

Cyborg Justice. It's Cyborg Justice.
I don't think it any worse than this. Even Pit Fighter is good in that Street Fighter the Movie kinda good. This game is pure ass.

@Video_Game_King: That game looks alright actually.
Trust me: it is not. There's so much wrong with it that it's difficult to figure out if there's anything right about it.
I'm gonna guess Wayne's World but if you don't agree then just do what I did and go nuts: http://www.gamerankings.com/browse.html?site=genesis&cat=0&year=0&numrev=2&sort=1&letter=&search=
All of these games seem so amazing. You've at least inspired him (the dude looking for the worst) to hunt down Cyborg Justice.
@BadSniper52: That picture is also amazing. Was not expecting a fullscreen Shaqqing when reading replies.
So, are these games that you all personally consider bad, and if so, is it because they're very 90s, or because they are unholy trifectas of crap? The measuring sticks which we're using are ET and Superman 64, both of which lack in gameplay, graphics, and sound, in comparison to games of the equivalent era.
Because it was a pre-Internet age, it's hard to find the rage against games during the same time. As a non-Genesis owner, I remember folks who liked Sonic 3D Blast, Cyborg Justice, and those who even have some fondness for Shaq Fu.
No other answer is accepted. I have experienced this game. It is not a good game.

Treasonous! Sir, if my monocle had not flown off due to my indignation at your scandalous assertion, I would challenge you to a bout of fisticuffs!

Rise of the Robots is pretty terrible. To this day I don't believe that people actually "played" that game, they only looked at it until a certain point was reached at which it became unbearable to interact with.
Oh god. OH GOD. I forgot about this game until you mentioned it. All my years of therapy, wasted. Wasted I tell you!

Yeah, I have Last Battle, and it's shit.
@mtcantor: I find that, in and of itself, pretty interesting. Did the Genesis just have a ton of crap games? Did it have no Exemplars of Terribleness on it? I guess I'm hoping for something that could be considered for inclusion on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_video_games_notable_for_negative_reception, but that might just not exist.
I find it odd how many of you guys actually listed good games as the worst on the Genesis. Decap Attack and Cyborg Justice are both great games, Boogerman is solid but nothing special.
Actual bad Genesis games: Heavy Nova, Bubsy 2, Awesome Possum Kicks Dr.Machino's Butt, Dark Castle, and Shaq-Fu.
@Video_Game_King: I actually really liked Cyborg Justice when I rented it all those moons ago. Customizable robot parts in a beat 'em up was mind blowing at the time. I will agree that if I played it now I probably wouldn't be as psyched.
That being said I didn't like Vectorman. Or Ecco the Dolphin. Yeah I said it.
