Overview
George Broussard is best known for co-creating Duke Nukem with fellow producer and designer Todd J. Replogle. Prior to his involvement with 3D Realms, Broussard published his games under the label Micro F/X Software. In 1991, Broussard became a co-owner of Apogee Software along with founder Scott Miller. Shortly after joining up with Apogee, Broussard and Miller pioneered a shareware model of distribution in which an episode of a game would be given out for free and the following installments would be paid for. Around this same time Apogee released the first Duke Nukem. In 1997, 3D Realms (a branch of Apogee) announced Duke Nukem Forever which would have a twelve year development cycle before getting cancelled in 2009.
In 2010 it was revealed that Broussard had made a deal with Gearbox Software for them to finish Duke Nukem Forever. It was released in 2011, following only a single delay from Gearbox Software.
