An especially large axe, most often double-headed and designed as a weapon.

A much larger version of your standard axe, except the Giant Axe is used pretty much exclusively as a weapon. There's really no point to cut some firewood with an axe that big. I mean really. Giant axes show up most often in fantasy type games and are used mostly by huge, burly type characters. Generally, giant axes are double headed and do large amounts of damage, but the attacks are very slow because of the weapon's weight.
